Su Yiming believes the two Olympic medals he earned at the Beijing Winter Games were the best gifts on his 18th birthday on Friday.

“The gold medal is for sure the best gift for my birthday. The gold and silver medals mean a lot to me. People can see how hard I’ve been working to achieve them.” Su said in interview in Beijing on Thursday.

What’s the best way to cut the cake?

*I Cut, You Choose

One popular solution is “I cut, you choose”. In this method, one person cuts the cake （or whatever needs dividing）, but the other one gets to choose which half he or she wants. This way, the person doing the cutting will try to make sure the pieces are in similar size.
