In the early afternoon, when he was planning to go home, a fierce snowstorm swept into the area. Unable to see far, he accidentally turned off the path. Before he knew it, Nicholas was lost, all alone[悬念1] He didn't have food, water, a phone, or other supplies. He was getting colder by the minute.Nicholas had no idea where he was. He tried not to panic. He thought about all the survival shows he had watched on TV. It was time to put the tips he had learned to use.He decided to stop skiing. There was a better chance of someone finding him if he stayed put. The first thing he did was to find shelter from the freezing wind and snow. If he didn't, his body temperature would get very low, which could quickly kill him.[悬念2] Using his skis, Nicholas built a snow cave. He gathered a huge mass of snow and dug out a hole in the middle. Then he piled branches on top of himself, like a blanket, to stay as warm as he could.By that evening, Nicholas was really hungry. He ate snow and drank water from a nearby stream so that his body wouldn't lose too much water. Not knowing how much longer he could last, Nicholas did the only thing he could he huddled (蜷缩) in his cave and slept.[悬念3]注意:续写词数应为150左右。The next day, Nicholas went out to look for help.                                                                                                                                                    Nicholas might not have survived the snowstorm if he hadn't watched Grylls' survival show Man vs. Wild. Who: NicholasWhere: at Sugarloaf Mountain in MaineWhen: one SundayWhat: Nicholas was skiing and a fierce snowstorm came. How: Nicholas tried to survive the snowstorm. The next day, Nicholas went out to look for help. With great efforts, he fought his way in the snow for hours but couldn't find anyone in sight. He had no choice but to follow his tracks and return to his snow cave, because without shelter, he could be frozen to death that night. On the third day, Nicholas again went out in search of help. He had walked for about two miles when a volunteer searcher spotted him. After two days stuck in the snow, Nicholas was saved. Nicholas might not have survived the snowstorm if he hadn't watched Grylls' survival show Man vs. Wild. In each programme of Man vs. Wild, Grylls is abandoned in a wild area and has to find his way out. Whatever the situation is, Grylls will remain calm and then come up with some good ideas. That's where Nicholas learned the tips that saved his life. When Grylls himself heard about Nicholas' amazing deeds, he was super impressed that Nicholas had made it since he knew better than anyone else how hard Nicholas had to work to stay alive. 1. with great efforts, fight one's way, in sight, have no choice but, in search of, spot, abandon, come up with等这些高级词汇为续写增色不少。After two days stuck in the snow在此处是过去分词短语作状语。 That's where Nicholas learned the tips that saved his life. When a tornado (龙卷风) touched down in a small town nearby, many families were left completely ruined. Afterwards all the local newspapers carried many humaninterest stories featuring some of the families who suffered the hardest. One Sunday, a particular picture especially touched me. A young woman stood in front of an entirely shattered (破碎的) mobile home, a depressed expression on her face. A young boy, seven or eight years old, stood at her side, eyes downward. Clutching (紧握) at her skirt was a tiny girl who stared into the camera, eyes wide with confusion and fear. The article that went with the picture gave the clothing sizes of each family member. With growing interest, I noticed that their sizes closely matched ours. This would be a good opportunity to teach my children to help those less fortunate than themselves. I stuck the picture of the young family on our refrigerator, explaining their difficulty to my sevenyearold twins, Brad and Brett, and to threeyearold Meghan. We have so much. And these poor people now have nothing I said. We'll share what we have with them. I brought three large boxes down from the room upstairs and placed them on the living room floor. Meghan watched seriously, as the boys and I filled one of the boxes with canned goods and foods. While I sorted through our clothes, I encouraged the boys to go through their toys and donate some of their less favourite things. Meghan watched quietly as the boys piled up old toys and games.Meghan walked up with Lucy, her worn, muchloved rag doll hugged tightly to her chest. She came to the box that held the toys, pressed her round little face into Lucy's flat, paintedonface, gave her a final kiss, then laid her gently on top of the other toys.Oh, Honey I said. You don't have to give Lucy. You love her so much.Meghan nodded seriously, eyes filled with heldback tears. “Lucy makes me happy, Mommy. Maybe she'll make that other little girl happy, too.注意:续写词数应为150左右。The boys had watched, openmouthed, as their baby sister placed her favourite doll in the box.                                                                                                                                                                                                                              I looked at my children for a long moment.                                                                                                                                                                                                                             【参考范文】The boys had watched, openmouthed, as their baby sister placed her favourite doll in the box. Without a word, Brad rose and went to his room. He came back carrying one of his favourite action figures. He hesitated briefly, clutching the toy, then looked over at Meghan and placed it in the box next to Lucy. A slow smile spread across Brett's face. Then he jumped up, eyes twinkling as he ran to fetch some of his prized Matchbox cars. Astonished, I realised that the boys had also recognised what little Meghan's gesture meant.I looked at my children for a long moment. Swallowing back tears, I pulled all three of them into my arms. Inspired by my little ones, I removed my old jacket from the box of clothes. I replaced it with the new hunter green jacket that I had found on sale last week. I hoped the young woman in the picture would love it as much as I did. It's easy to give what we don't want any more, but harder to let go of things we cherish. However, the true spirit of giving is to give with your heart.
