Inkstone (砚台) is regarded as one of the “Four Treasures of Study” in China. Jiangzhou Chengni inkstone in Shanxi Province is one of China’s most famous inkstones. It feels like a baby’s skin and can do less harm to the brush. Unlike other inkstones made of natural stones, it is made of mud (泥) from the Fenhe River.
The skill for making Jiangzhou Chengni inkstones can be dated back to the Tang Dynasty. However, it was lost at the end of the Qing Dynasty. In 1986, Lin Yongmao and his son Lin Tao from Shanxi decided to bring a rebirth (重生) to the ancient skill. Then they visited libraries to read historical papers about inkstones.
They walked over the Fenhe River and collected all kinds of mud to find the best one. To know the best temperature of firing clay, they stayed up all night, keeping a close watch on the smoke. By working hard and never giving up, they successfully made three Chengni inkstones in 1991. Without doubt, the spirit is worth learning.
Lin Xiaolin is Lin Tao’s son. In 2019, after returning from his studies abroad, the 33-year-old created new ways to make the Chengni inkstone. By controlling the temperature of firing clay, he increased the colors of the Chengni inkstone from three to eight.
In 2013, Lin Tao built the Jiangzhou Chengni Inkstone Cultural Park, More than 10,000 people have visited the park to learn the old skill. “Passing on the skill holds the key to keeping it alive,” he said.
39. What is Chengni inkstone made of?
A. The natural stones. B. The animals’ skins. C. The mud from a river.
40. How long did it take Lin Yongmao and his son to bring the ancient skil back to life?
A. Three years. B. Four years. C. Five years.
41. What does the underlined word “spirit” probably refer to (指)?
A. Working hard and never giving up.
B. The decision to make ancient inkstones.
C. The wish to collect different kinds of mud.
42. What can we infer (推断) from the passage?
A. The best time to make inkstones is at night.
B. Many people are interested in the ancient inkstone art.
C. Lin Xiaolin learns the skill of making Chengni inkstone abroad.
43. What is the best title of the passage?
A. The Invention of Inkstones
B. The Rebirth of an Ancient Art
C. The History of the Special Inkstone

It is true that people with better education are usually able to get better paying jobs. In other words, they have more chances to choose a good job. 44 It seems that the purpose of education is to make people get jobs. But this isn’t accepted by all people.
Some people may think that a person should spend the best years of his life getting education only for a way ‘of living. 45 Actually, if education is just a way of making a living, people don’t need to spend so much time in school. People can get education for a living in a short time. 46 Even language and math need not be taught in detail, either. Here it is clear that education is much more than teaching a man to get a way of living.
47 It is not only to teach him to speak, read and write, but also to develop his creative thinking and other abilities. After that, it is to make him a wise man and thankfully enjoy the achievements of human. 48 . Educated people are expected to be able to listen to good music, read good books, watch plays and most of them take an interest in the world.
So making a good living is an important reason for education, but certainly not the most important or the main reason.
A. It is also to make a person enjoy a better life. B. But people with little or no education don’t. C. This was probably one of the earliest reasons of education. D. Education plays a role in making people be someone famous. E. They don’t have to learn the subjects like history and geography. F. Actually, education is mainly for improving a person in different ways. |
(D)
请阅读下面短文,根据短文内容,在方框内的缩写文章中,填入与文章意思最符合的单词,并将答案写在答题卡相应的位置上。每空一词。
Nobody wants to lose, but we must accept that losing is a part of life. After all, we can’t win all the time. However, we can learn something valuable from every failure. So we must know how to be a good loser.
When we lose, just take it with a smile and look on the bright side of it. Failure can’t be avoided in our life. Edison failed 10,000 times before he invented the light bulb (灯泡). When he was asked how he felt, he said that he hadn’t failed 10,000 times but had learned 10,000 things which didn’t work.
We must accept our failure and learn to take advantage of it. Remember that it can be helpful when we begin to take action to walk out of it and think about how we can improve. If someone else can help, we’ll be lucky enough. Maybe he or she has been through the same experience before. Many people enjoy helping others solve problems. This can greatly save us time in learning how to avoid the same mistakes in the future.
There is only one winner in every competition. Some win, while some lose. That is a usual way of life. If we offer our congratulations to the winners and share their happiness, we won’t feel sorry when facing our failure.
In a word, being a good loser will help us to succeed in life. Good losers set examples to us, and most importantly, they will finally win.
Failure is normal in our life. Learning how to be a good loser is important because every failure can teach us 49 lessons. When we lose, we should learn to find its 50 side. Edison has set a good example for us. Failure can help us to be better when we take action and think about how to 51 ourselves. Besides, it will be lucky for us to be helped by others, because this will also 52 save us time to learn how to stop making the same mistakes. At last, we should offer to send our congratulations to the winners. To share their 53 can make us face our failure more bravely. Anyway, being a good loser will help us to succeed in life. |

Traveling is a great thing to do. It helps us learn about traditional culture.
Tourism (旅行) can be very good for traditional culture. This is because when people travel to another place, they often want to learn more about its traditions. So the local people there will keep their traditional culture alive. They will wear traditional clothing and sell traditional food. They will also have shows for tourists. These shows can be dances, concerts, plays, or something else.
Tourism also helps people respect (尊重) each other. If you understand another culture well, you will probably respect that culture much more. You will probably want to protect that culture as well.
However, tourism isn’t always good for traditional culture. A lot of people say that some local people wear traditional clothing, and do traditional dances only for tourists, but that isn’t their real lifestyle. They just want to make money in this way.
Another problem is that tourists can influence the local people’s lives. For example, sometimes tourists come to watch local people praying (祈祷) in temples (寺庙). While the local people pray, tourists take photographs and make noises.
Besides, tourism brings harm to many cultural relics (遗迹). According to a study, the CO2 that too many visitors breathe out has made the air more acidic (酸性的) at the Longmen Grottoes (龙门石窟).
Now more and more tourists want to learn about traditional culture. Most local people want more tourism, because tourists bring money and help local businesses. However, local government needs to make laws (法律) to protect places and lifestyles. If everyone is responsible, then tourism will be great for traditional culture.
Online tours are becoming popular! To protect relics and educate the public, some places have created their own digital museums. Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang, ________ If you want to see the beautiful paintings of the Mogao Grottoes, just go to e-dunhuang.com. You can learn all about the stories and culture behind the relics there. Yungang Grottoes in Datong, Shanxi Baidu has created a digital museum for the Yungang Grottoes. If you search for “云冈石窟三维全景数字博物馆”, you’ll have a special tour online. You’ll feel like you are really there! |

Jill always got too much love from her parents. So she was lazy. She never helped out at home and even didn’t know how to tidy up her room. At school, she wouldn’t do anything for others. So she didn’t have any friends.
One day, Jill took the bus to visit her aunt. She sat next to the window. After a while, more people got on and the bus became a little crowded. Jill thought to herself, “What bad luck they have!” Just then, an old man stepped onto the bus. He carried a walking stick to support himself, and stood beside Jill. But Jill looked away to avoid giving out her seat.
Several minutes later, the bus came to a sudden stop and the old man just fell over. Luckily, he didn’t get hurt, Jill felt so sorry. The old man might get hurt because of her being cold. She stood up and offered the old man her seat. Then she saw the old man looking at her thankfully. Jill felt shy at first. Later, they talked with each other along the way.

Time management is important for students. So learning how to plan time is a necessary lesson.
Time is tricky. It is difficult to control but easy to waste. When you look ahead, you think you have more time than you need. For example, you will not feel how time passes quickly in a new term until the final exam arrives. When you suddenly find that time is running out, you may get worried a lot because you don’t have enough time to cover all your studies.
Time is dangerous. If you don’t control it, it will control you. If you don’t make it work for you, it will work against you. So when you become a senior high school student, you must become the master of time.
Time is valuable. Wasting time is a bad habit. If you wish to get the most out of high school, you must put the time management into practice. Please remember the more time you waste, the easier it is to go on wasting time.

十、书面表达(共15分)
There are many different after-school activities at my school. And I always take part in them to improve myself. Here is one of my most unforgettable experiences.
It happened last term when I was still an eighth-grader. Our school called on us to volunteer to be a commentator in Shanxi Museum on the weekend. The news made me excited because I am crazy about Shanxi’s culture and history. So I joined the activity at once with some of my classmates. At first, I was a little nervous when I stood in the hall of Shanxi Museum. A few minutes later, things turned better. More and more people would like to listen to my introduction about the history of Shanxi. An old man even praised me for what I did. I was so proud of myself.
Without doubt, I got the value of being a volunteer from it—to bring happiness to the people around me. Taking after-school activities is really a good way to improve our practical abilities.
