由althugh引导的让步状语从句表示 “尽管……，（但是）……”。一般情况下，可以和thugh引导的让步状语从句互换使用，但在口语中thugh更为常用。让步状语从句可以置于主句之前，也可以置于主句之后。

⑥ thugh引导的从句可用倒装语序（即把从句中的表语或状语等放在thugh之前），而althugh 不能这样用，如：Yung thugh she is, yet she is fit fr the jb. (= Yung as she is, …)⑦ 有时可用副词yet, still, nevertheless (但不能用连 词but) 来配合连接词thugh或althugh，以加强语气，如：Thugh he is ver seventy, yet / still / nevertheless he can ride the bike.
