It doesn't mean forgetting what happened. It means letting go of your need for an apology. It means making peace with past hurt and pain. It means choosing to move on. All of this is easy to say, hard to do. But forgiveness can happen in a series of small steps over time.
Take your feelings seriously. Forgiving doesn't mean shrugging your shoulders and saying "Oh, well." Cry, feel sad, throw things hard, or write angry passages in your diary to get rid of some of the stress. Talk with trusted friends or family to ask for advice to help find solutions to your problems. You have the right to feel hurt and angry. But suffering these feelings over time does you great harm.
Make a difference in your life. I've seen that many miss the opportunity for getting back a good relationship with someone else because they just wait for the apology that may never come. Others stay stuck in anger long after the other person has stopped to be a part of their lives. Make a decision to make a difference for yourself. That may be forgiving or being the first to reach out to the other so that you can move on with your own life.
Forgive yourself and engage in positive self-talk. Although you may mainly blame the other person, it's important to forgive yourself with positive self-talk. Feel certain that you can learn from this and move on. Tell yourself that you will survive this pain and that life will get better because you can make a choice to let go.
Try understanding the other. This doesn't reduce your pain but may make what happened more understandable. Understanding doesn't forgive hurtful behavior, but understanding can help to get rid of your anger and to forgive.
Realize that forgiveness benefits you most of all. The other person may never know about your forgiveness. But forgiving and letting go can lighten the load on your body and on your spirit.8. What does forgiving mean according to the text?A. The pain the other person brought you isn't very serious.
B. What the other person has said or done doesn't hurt you.
C. You don't care and have forgotten what happened to you.
D. You needn't the other person to say sorry to you anymore.9. What is the attitude of the author to getting angry according to paragraph 2?A. Positive. B. Negative. C. Objective. D. Uncertain.10. What should you do if you have a quarrel with your close friend according to paragraph 3?A. Wait for your friend's apology.
B. Take the initiative to say hello to your friend.
C. Try your best to forget your problem.
D. Have positive self-talk.11. What does the text mainly talk about?A. How to forgive other people.
B. Forgiveness is helpful for us all.
C. Understanding can help forgive others.
D. Life gets better if you choose to forgive.DThe livestreaming and fast delivery industry have attracted so many young people that the industrial sector is short of manpower. "My advice is to encourage more young people to work in the factories and less in the express delivery sector," Zhang Xinghai,a deputy to the National People's Congress,China's top legislature, said during the ongoing NPC annual session.
Zhang wants more young people to work in the factories so that China's manufacturing (制造业) sector continues to flourish.
Whatever job young people do is a matter of choice, but the manufacturing sector is facing a labor crunch (短缺)for too many people prefer jobs in other sectors.
A survey conducted by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security in the third quarter of 2021 found that of 100 jobs that were facing a manpower crunch,58 were in the manufacturing sector.By 2025,the shortage in 10 key manufacturing industries could be as high as 30 million.
It is time some strong measures were taken to attract people back to the factories. This can be done by raising the salaries of factory workers.
According to a survey in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province, the annual income of express delivery workers in the city is more than 100,000 yuan (﹩15,831).In contrast, the average monthly salary of those doing blue-collar jobs in Guangdong in 2020 was just 7,108 yuan,or about 84,000 yuan a year. That gap surely needs to be reduced.
Besides, the legal rights and interests of those doing blue-collar jobs need to be better protected.Express delivery workers can decide when they want to work, but factory workers have to work whenever the factory demands.
Therefore, the authorities should protect factory workers' rights to weekends,8-hour working schedules and paid leave.
Also, the promotion and salary growth structure of factory workers must be clearly defined. In a nutshell,to lure young people back to the factories,it is necessary to make blue-collar jobs more attractive.12. What can we infer from Zhang Xinghai's words? ______ A. The future of the express delivery sector is hopeless.
B. Working in factories in China are attractive to young people.
C. Most young people are unwilling to work in the manufacturing sector.
D. Working as a delivery man is quite easy for young people.13. What does Paragraph 4 mainly tell us? ______ A. A lot of jobs in China are facing a labor crunch.
B. Employment rate in China will be dramatically increased by 2025.
C. There are 10 manufacturing industries facing manpower shortage in total.
D. The industrial sector is facing a severe labor shortage.14. Which is NOT the reason for manpower shortage in factories ? ______ A. Flexible working hours. B. Lower incomes.
C. Undefined promotion structure. D. Unprotected legal rights.15. What is the author's attitude towards the current situation of manufacturing industry ? ______ A. Indifferent. B. Concerned. C. Unclear. D. Neutral. 二、阅读七选五(本大题共5小题,共12.5分)Studies have shown optimistic thinking leads to a positive attitude and that people with positive attitudes live healthier, happier and longer lives. Here are some benefits of staying positive in life.
