When amputee (被截肢者) runner Jacky Hunt-Broersma says her motto is, “I can do hard things,” she is not joking. She has completed 104 marathons in 104 days, 16 a prosthetic (假体的) leg.
Hunt-Broersma, 46, 17 her 104th marathon on April 30, near her home in Phoenix, Arizona, breaking an unofficial world record along the way. Brick Runners, an organization that supports 18 who raise money for 19 , even designed one of her favorite T-shirts, which reads, “Strong Has Many Forms.”
Hunt-Broersma, who is from South Africa, lost her leg below the knee to cancer when she was 26 years old. My mother, Donzella Washington, 80, graduated from Alabama A&. M University on Dec. 6 with a bachelor’s degree in social work. Along with her 51 achievements, she made history as the oldest 52 in the history of Alabama A&. M University.

For LaFont, a bike was always a vehicle of opportunity. Growing up in a poor family, he and his brother often 66 to and from school. The passion continued into his college days. He would also spend hours 67 his bike in his front lawn.

In battling leukemia (白血病),9-year-old Harper Harrell has devoted her days—in the hospital—to raising money for the V Foundation for cancer research. “I know it’s 96 , but it deserves my effort,” said Harrell.

At 7:00 am on July 26, I found myself sheltering under a large rock with “strangers” telling jokes as it rained heavily with thunder. I was approaching the end to the journey that led me here, one hike (徒步旅行) that had 111 five months earlier at Amicalola Falls State Park in Georgia.
