A group of teenagers in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood were looking for a way to uplift their marginalized (被边缘化的) West Side community. For areas like Austin, classified as “food deserts”, fresh produce and healthy food are difficult to 3 even at the best of times. The situation 4 when several area grocery stores were forced to 5 temporarily after being destroyed. Thus, one of the 6 that concerned the teens most was the 7 of healthy food in the area, which was the 8 of years of racism. In their community, Austin Harvest has since sprung to life, where there were only two food markets.
“Food is a(n) 9 need,” Azariah Baker, one of the teens said, “but it’s also something 10 to us.”
Their project got 11 from a lot of professional athletes. “People care. It’s a time for people to show up. I think our world has 12 .” Baker said, “So for us, to be able to come together and say we’re going to lead that change is 13 .” Together, they raised $500,000.
The vision for Austin Harvest was shaped and implemented (实施) by the teens. “We’ve been behind the project 14 ,” Baker said. “We’ve 15 how we want to show our market — where we want our market to be, what we sell, and what we look like. It is we that 16 it.”
Taking a “teach someone to fish rather than give someone a fish” approach, The Hatchery Chicago, a food business incubator (孵化器), also helped to 17 lessons in real-world business skills including licensing and customer service, as well as cooking classes 18 helping interested teens work toward careers in the 19 industry.
This is a real entrepreneurship opportunity for the teens and also an opportunity for them to bring food 20 to their marginalized neighborhood.

My wife and I moved into our home two years ago. We had a yard with a lot of 21 . Very often when we have flowers, Denise or I would plant some between the rocks just to add some 22 to the area.
Last summer,I found a tiny little plant in the yard that I could not immediately identify. I knew I didn’t plant it and Denise said she didn’t either.
We decided to let it 23 growing until we could find out what it was.
Weeks passed and as I made my way back to the 24 plant, it appeared to be a sunflower. I decided to 25 the weeds(杂草)around it. As I pulled rocks from the area to get to the weeds, I noticed something
26 . The sunflower had not 27 where I saw it begin. It actually had begun under a big rock and grown under and around it to reach the 28 .
That was when I 29 that if a tiny little sunflower didn’t let a big rock stand in its way of developing,we also had the ability to do the same thing. If we 30 ourselves like that little sunflower, we can reach where we    31 to go and get what we need for growth.
We need to believe in ourselves, knowing we have the 32 to achieve our goals. Like the sunflower, it knew it had the ability to get over the rock because it had 33 in itself that it would succeed. Stand tall like the sunflower and be 34 of who and what we are, and then the environment will begin to 35 us. We will find a way to go under or around any “rock” in order to reach our goals.

As adults, do we believe this? Or is it a 74 just for young people? I am writing to tell you that indeed “one person can”. I 75 this because one day one person did an act of 76 that changed my life and the lives of millions more.
Almost 15 years ago, while driving across town, I was 77 a radio interview and heard a story of selflessness that was 78 . Over Thanksgiving weekend, a woman 79 ten heavy winter coats on a bus in hopes of donating(捐赠)them at “A Warm Coat” drive. She knew the city had many 80 people in need and that her 81 could make a difference between cold and 82 for ten people that winter.

And I also realize that more people would be able to 85 clothes if there were more convenient clothing collection 86 . Now, nearly 15 years later, One Warm Coat has 87 over 4 million coats across the country. As the national founder, my heart is full and 88 , knowing that we, each one of us, make a real difference in the lives of thousands.
So when you step forward to donate your time, or give a(n) 89 , or help your neighbor, perhaps wondering “will it 90 matter?”, I can tell you that it will!

You can do the 105 . When you have someone 106 your hometown, don’t just take them to the tourist spots. Show them the places with great 107 to you. Show them your heart through the places you show them and the experience you give them. There’s always something 108 in almost every town there. If you don’t have any spots in your hometown that you like, 109 to find the good where you live. If you do, you will also find it in your- self. It’s a time that both you and the tourist will never forget. Don’t 110 the experience, but thoroughly enjoy every moment with that person. The tourist and your heart will thank you for it.
