One of the greatest mountains in the world is in the country of Tanzania, Africa. It is Mount Kilimanjaro. This mountain is 5,895 meters high, the highest in all of Africa. It's also one of the highest walkable mountains in the world.

The mountain has glaciers(川) and snow, which are unusual to see in Tanzania, where it is so hot all year round! Over a million people live on its lower place. It is a very important farming area because it has a lot of rain. The mountain also has a lot of wildlife, such as buffalo, leopards, and monkeys. It has more than 1,800 kinds of flowering plants.

Scientists are planning the 2030 trip to Mars. It will take astronauts twelve months on the way and eighteen months living on the Red Planet. As well as building a spaceship and creating space stations, scientists must answer another question: what are the astronauts going to eat while they are away?

In 1961, Yuri Gagarin, the first person in space, ate food in tubes (软管) . The next astronauts from America had dried food mixed with water. Today, astronauts take ready-made meals with them. However, the meals they can take on the spaceship will last for only about two years.

Maya Cooper, a researcher from the USA, thinks she might have the answer. She studies how to grow plants without earth. Her plants grow on a shelf in some special liquid (液体). And they grow surprisingly well. Maya's idea is for the astronauts to have a greenhouse on Mars. In the greenhouse, they can grow some kinds of fruits and vegetables. In this way, astronauts will be able to live on fruits and vegetables without meat products for the long trip.
