All dogs can benefit from training throughout their lives. But where to begin the process? Thus, we have consulted some experts on where to start. Here's what they say.
Identify your training goals
There are two levels of dog training. If you're interested in skill training, or basic manners, such as teaching your dog to sit, stay and lie down, that's the field of a dog trainer. If your dog has a behavior problem—anxiety, aggressiveness, fearfulness—then what you need is a dog behavioral consultant.
Be realistic
Your dog may bark at your guests, which might be a kind of dog that has been selected for hundreds of years to defend against people walking in your front door. Since you can't change a German shepherd's genetic impulse (基因冲动) to defend its territory, you may need to change your expectations, instead.
Decide how you'd like to train your dog
When it comes to training methods, you have a few options. Group classes are cheaper but less personalized, while board and training facilities are more expensive and riskier. Your choice will depend on your budget and your training goals. If you don't want to pay a lot of money for dog training, you can choose free or lowcost resources you can find online.
Understand the methods
Generally speaking, many trainers fall into two broad categories: The first is positive reinforcement (强化) trainers, which means giving your dog something good to train. The second is balanced trainers who are willing to make incorporate corrections, which means using positive reinforcement methods.

21.Who should you ask if your dogs are aggressive?
A.A dog behavioral trainer. B.A dog behavioral consultant.
C.A reinforcement trainer. D.A balanced trainer.
22.What's the benefit if your dog attends the group classes?
A.It can socialize better. B.It can learn more skills.
C.You can save money. D.You can build stronger bonds with it.
23.Where does the text most likely appear?
A.On a website. B.In a story book. C.In a pet brochure. D.In a biological study.

An 11yearold boy has become a hero since his quick thinking saved two lives. Davyon Johnson helped save a choking classmate and a woman attempting to escape a fire. On Dec. 8, 2021 the Muskogee County Sheriff's Department honored Johnson for his heroics at a meeting. At the event, Undersheriff Greg Martin gave the sixthgrader a certificate naming him an honorary deputy for the Muskogee County Sheriff's Office. “We are all so proud of you, Johnson!” wrote the sheriff's office in a post on Facebook on Dec. 14, 2021.
The Muskogee Public Schools recognized Davyon Johnson during the meeting Tuesday. Principal Latricia Dawkins considered Johnson a hero in an interview. “He always says that he wants to be an emergency medical technician. So he put that desire into action and immediately saved that young man,” Dawkins said, adding that Johnson “is just a kind soul and liked by students and teachers”.
The first incident happened during the school day. Johnson jumped into action after one of his classmates accidentally swallowed a water bottle cap and was choked (窒息) by it after attempting to unscrew (拧开) it with his mouth. Johnson immediately ran to the child and performed the Heimlich maneuver. Dawkins said, “From the account of the witnesses, when he did it, the bottle cap came out.” Johnson said he learned how to do the Heimlich maneuver on YouTube, and suggested others do the same.
Johnson's heroism didn't end there. After school, during the day after he saved his classmate, Johnson spotted a woman attempting to escape from a burning home. He quickly realized the worried woman was moving slowly and ran across the street to help her. “She was a disabled lady and being a good citizen, I should help her leave,” Johnson said.
LaToya, the boy's mother, said, “I don't feel surprised at my son's actions. I'm just a proud mom.”
24.What is Johnson's dream?
A.To be a chemistry teacher. B.To be a fashion designer.
C.To be an aircraft engineer. D.To be an emergency medical technician.
25.When did Johnson save the woman?
A.The next day after saving his classmate. B.Several hours after saving his classmate.
C.On Dec. 8, 2021. D.On Dec. 14, 2021.
26.What is the Heimlich maneuver?
A.A way to calm a person who is angry.
B.A way to help a person who can't walk.
C.A way to save a person who is choking.
D.A way to improve a person's spoken language.
27.Why did the woman walk slowly?
A.The heavy smoke blocked her view. B.The way was seriously blocked.
C.She had a physical disability. D.She was too frightened to walk.

A study of teenage girls' selfietaking (自拍) behaviors found that taking and sharing selfies on social media is not linked to poor body image or appearance concerns. However, when adolescent girls spend too much time struggling over which photo of themselves to post, or rely heavily on editing apps to alter their images, there may be cause for concern.
The study, by researchers at the University of Arizona, found that selfie editing and time invested in creating and selecting the perfect selfie were both related to selfobjectification, which led to body shame, appearance anxiety and more negative appearance evaluations in teen girls. “Selfobjectification is the idea that you come to think of yourself as an external object to be viewed by other people,” said senior study author Jennifer Aubrey, an associate professor at the UA.
Based on a study of 278 teenage girls, “Our main finding was that we really shouldn't be too worried about kids who take selfies and share them; that's not where the negative effects come from. It's the investment and the editing that yielded negative effects,” Aubrey said. “Selfie editing and selfie investment predicted selfobjectification, and girls who selfobjectify were more likely to feel shameful about their bodies or anxious about their appearance.”
“Selfobjectification is the pathway to so many things in adolescence that we want to prevent,” Aubrey said. “So, interventions really should focus on how we can encourage girls to develop an awareness of themselves that doesn't only depend on what they look like to other people.” The researchers said parents and caregivers of adolescent girls should be aware that if a teen seems to be obsessed (痴迷的), it might be time for a talk.
The researchers also note that there can be different motivations for sharing selfies. “Selfies are a part of the media landscape, but you should post them for reasons other than trying to get people to admire your appearance or your body.” Aubrey said. With an estimated 93 million selfies taken each day, they aren't going away anytime soon, nor should they. The important thing to remember is: Selfies aren't bad. Just don't obsess.
28.What behavior of adolescent girls may cause concern?
A.Taking selfies.
B.Caring about their images.
C.Sharing selfies on social media.
D.Overusing editing apps to beautify their images.

B.When to end selfietaking behaviors.
C.How to help form a healthy selfawareness.
D.How to prevent teenage girls' craze for selfies.

There is no cycling race more celebrated than the Tour de France. Stating from the Eifel Tower in Paris, this 8day race winds on stonecovered roads, up mountains and finishes at the top of la Planche des Belles Filles. Huge crowds cheer on the riders every year and the 2022 race was no exception. Except for a brief time period between 1984 and 1989, there hasn't been a Tour de France for women riders until now.
“The biggest race is the Tour de France,” said professional cyclist Ayesha McGowan. “Whenever I tell people what I do, they always ask, ‘You mean you ride in the Tour de France?' I`d have to inform them that women didn't have one where I could compete. But now I don't have to do that anymore.”
On July 24, 2022, when the men's race finished, the Tour De France Femmes began. The route to this race actually began in 1955 when a special woman's race occurred. It wouldn't return until 1984. The women's version lasted until 1989 and then was replaced by an unofficial version that was discontinued in 2009. Four years later, professional cyclists Kathryn Bertine, Emma Pooley and Chrissie Wellington started advocating for an official women's race. The result is the new Tour de France Femmes.
While women have their own race, the prizes for the women aren't equal. The female winners will receive eight times less than the men. There isn't parity in other aspects, either. Women riders ride a shorter distance than what men can ride in a day. It was broadcast live at the set time like men's but only for two hours, much shorter than the men's.
The race ended on July 31, lasting eight days, with 39yearold Dutch rider Van Vleuten wining the eight and final stage. “I'm proud to be the first winner of this new version,” she said. “I hope it's a big start and we can build this into as influential an event as men's in a few years' time.”
32.What do we know about Ayesha McGowan from the text?
A.She longs to compete with men cyclists.
B.She wasn't satisfied with the Tour de France.
C.She felt upset when asked about her profession.
D.She competed in the 2022 Tour de France Femmes.
33.What is paragraph 3 mainly about?
A.The cyclists devoted to changing a cycle race.
B.The efforts to change an official women's race.
C.The ups and downs of an official women's race.
D.The contributions to holding an official women's race.
34.What does the underlined word “parity” in paragraph 4 mean?
A.Fairness. B.Standard. C.Quality. D.Freedom.
35.What can be inferred about the new Tour de France Femmes from the text?
A.Few people cheered on the riders.
B.It was still held in an unofficial way.
C.The media didn't show any interest in it.
D.It takes time to develop it into a bigger event.

I was moving as fast as I could, stepping cautiously from rock to rock along the uneven jetty (栈桥). Far ahead, I could see the back of my brother's sandy hair and the bright orange of his shorts.
“Too slow, sister!” I heard Sam yell as he hopped with ease.
“I'll show him,” I thought, and attempted a double jump. What a mistake! My left foot came down hard between the edges of two gray rocks, scraping my ankle. “Ouch!” I yelled. I tried to wiggle (扭动) my foot out, but my shoe was stuck. I bent closer to the rock and that's when I saw it: a shiny, square shaped stone with the color of water, attached to a glittery gold chain. It was just lying there on the wet sand, and a few seconds later it was in my pocket.
Sam squinted (眯着眼睛看) in the sun. Could he tell I was hiding the most perfect discovery of the summer? I kept turning the treasure around in my pocket, pushing each corner of the square stone into my finger. I was dizzy, but I didn't want Sam to notice. He liked to tell everybody my business.
“Ryan saved the mini cola bottle from the carnival!” It happened to be perfect for sand art!
“Ryan wasted her allowance on salt and pepper shakers from the yard sale!” They were antique little pig and cost only 50 cents.
My family calls me their “little collector”. Some mean kids at school call me “trash girl”.
Sam and I walked along the main street, the small buildings giving us a break from the sun. Through the window of the candy shop, I could see tubes of colorful jelly beans. A sign on the window's glass read LOST: Gold and blue necklace. Very special. If found, call Chrissy at 5559924.
Chrissy had drawn a crayon version of the necklace at the bottom of the poster. The necklace looked different from the one I clutched in my pocket, I decided. Rounder, bluer. The poster appeared old and weathered. It must have been put up months ago. We continued to walk, and I noticed four more posters. Someone must have returned that necklace by now, I thought.

When Jackie Robinson walked onto Ebbets Field in Brooklyn, New York, on April 15, 1947, he changed baseball forever. As the first African American to play in the Major League in modern times, many believe he changed the country forever.
Robinson was born in 1919. He lived in a time when rules controlled what African Americans could do. He was a top athlete, playing football, basketball and baseball. But playing for a Major League team was off limits to Robinson because of his race.
Branch Rickey, president and manager of the Brooklyn Dodgers, signed Robinson in 1947. He believed that Robinson not only had the skills, but the courage to face the challenge of becoming modern baseball's first black player.
It wasn't easy. Robinson sometimes faced shouts of laugh and disapproval from fans. But he became a star, anyway. In 1962, he became the first AfricanAmerican player chosen to enter the Baseball Hall of Fame. In 2005, he was awarded a Congressional Gold Medal, the highest award Congress can give to an American.
By breaking baseball's color barrier, Robinson opened the door for many to follow his footsteps, not only in baseball, but in other areas of life as well. After he stopped playing the game, Robinson worked as a manager for a coffee company. He wrote a newspaper column. He also started a bank.

参考范文:
Oncehome, Iplacedthenecklaceinmyspecialspotforspecialthings, lostinthought. So far, there were a variety of things like mini cola bottles and shakers. I stared at the stone, so clean and polished. Could it be Chrissy's? Was it a very special necklace? Should I return it to her? I paced back and forth in the room anxiously, not knowing what to do. Having struggled for a long time, I finally decided to call the number on the poster and get in touch with Chrissy. I told her that I might have something that belonged to her and made an appointment with her.
Fifteenminuteslater, IwassittingacrossfromChrissyinthecandyshop. We were drinking milkshakes and sharing an order of sweet potato fries. Looking at the blue stone in her hand with her tearful eyes, she told me that the necklace was a gift from her mom before she got sick and she was grateful to me for returning the necklace to her. “Holding onto it somehow makes things a little better.” she said. I couldn't agree more with her. It dawned on me that I became “a treasure girl” instead of “a trash girl” called by the mean kids at school.
