Step 1 Review
Show the class some pictures and get them to make up a dialogue about seeing a doctor.
Example:
A: What’s the matter?/What’s wrong?
B: I feel sick…
A: Let me see…You may… Take this medicine. Stay home and have a good rest.
B: OK. Thank you.
Step 2 Presentation
1. Teach the new words glass, cute, blond, different and the sentence What does he/she look like? by using the pictures and the discussion.

Ask individual students to describe a person each.

2. Check them.
Choose the drawing which matches the descriptions best. Stick it on the wall of the classroom.
Step 13 Summary
Sum up the important language points with the class.

What do/does sb. look like? 某人长什么样?
常用来询问某人的长相。常用答语为:
Sb. be +形容词. (概述某人总体长相)
Sb. have/has+形容词+名词.(具体描述某部位的特征)

—He is tall and strong. 他长得又高又壮。

辨析:look like与be like
两者都表示“像”,但具体用法有区别。
look like
仅指外表上的“像”
be like
不仅指外表上的“像”,还可指性格、品质等方面的“像”
The hat looks like a cat. 那顶帽子看上去像一只猫。
—What’s your teacher like? 你的老师是个怎样的人?
—He is tall and funny. 他个子高,且幽默。
2. He has three black hairs. 他长着三根黑发。
hair
①〔可数名词〕头发。指一根一根的头发,复数形式为 hairs。
My granny has some grey hairs. 我奶奶有一些白发。
②〔不可数名词〕头发。指头发这一整体,作主语时谓语动词用单数形式。
Your hair is blond. 你的头发是金黄色的。
3. I am almost twelve years old. 我将近12岁了。
almost adv. 几乎;差不多
它可与no, nobody, nothing等否定词连用,但不能与not连用。
almost一般用于实义动词之前,连系动词be、助动词或情态动词之后。
