这是永州市2023年上期期末质量监测高一英语科听力部分。该部分分为第一、第二两节。注意：回答听力部分时请先将答案标在试卷上。听力部分结束前，你将有两分钟的时间将你的答案转涂到答题卡上。现在是听力试音时间（插入2023年高考听力试音音频）。试音到此结束。听力考试正式开始。

W: What are you reading?

M: An ad in the paper. It’s about a program called Young Scientist. It says students aged 5 and up can become a “young scientist”, not in any research centers, but in the Yellowstone National Park.

W: It is very suitable for Tommy. He is really interested in science. Tell me more about it.

M: OK. After entering the park, the participants need to buy them self-guiding booklets for $5. They can then borrow a pack of equipment to do experiments. Once they finish the experiments, they are awarded a key chain. Designed to serve three different age groups, the program guides the young in solving science mysteries.

W: Sounds interesting.

M: Yes. Since Tommy hasn’t celebrated his ninth birthday yet, he can go to the program for kids aged between 5 and 9.

Children from more than 180,000 families in China can now go on an online tour of ten world-famous museums through online broadcast. The families each need to pay 19.9 yuan for that. In 174 classrooms in Chinese villages, students can watch it for free. Miss Ma is a teacher in a village school in Sichuan. She says the children there have never visited a museum. For some of them, even going to the closest library in town is difficult. The museum project shows how online broadcast can help improve education. The technology has already been widely used for entertainment. However, it is not until recently that it has been used for education. The project has proved to be a success, but there’s still a problem — people haven’t worked out how to make these online tours interesting.
