根据上文“I used to walk around the store with my parents, constantly begging for something.”
knowledge“认识,了解”;command“命令,控制”;skill“技能”;technology“技术”。根据下文“Instead of wasting my money on things, I started saving up.” have knowledge about ... 故选A。
follow“跟随”;appreciate“欣赏,重视”;reject“拒绝”;accept“接受”。根据下文中的“told me with an angry face”可知,父亲很生气,所以他应是拒绝作者买东西的请求。故选C。
earn“赚取”;spot“发现,注意到”;lose“丢失”;discover“发现”。结合下文“when you have a job”可知,父亲说的是作者自己工作时赚的钱。 故选A。

complain“抱怨”;comment“评论”;regret“后悔”;realize“意识到”。
account“账户”;password“密码”;book“书”;logo“徽标”。 故选A。

Dear Jenny,
The Chinese scientist I admire most is Liang Jianying, general designer of the China high-speed EMU.
Liang Jianying was born in 1972. Since she graduated from university in 1995, she has been devoting all her time to researching into the development of the China high-speed railway. Afterwards, she invented the 300-350 km/h high-speed EMU, making it more convenient for us to get around quickly.
M: Mack Rutherford is a 17-year-old pilot. He has become the youngest person to fly alone around the world. ⑰He landed his small plane in Bulgaria’s capital, Sofia. That is also where he started his trip five months ago. Rutherford turned 17 during his trip. He broke the Guinness World Record for the youngest male to fly around the world. That record had been held by Travis Ludlow of Britain. ⑱Ludlow was 18 when he made his flight around the world last year. ⑲Rutherford was born into a family of flyers. His sister, Zara finished her own around-the-world flight in January at the age of 19. Zara also set the record as the youngest woman to fly alone around the world.
To break the Guinness World Records, Rutherford crossed the equator twice. He first planned to make the trip in three months. However, it lasted longer because of several barriers, including rainstorms, sandstorms and extreme heat. ⑳Most of the delays were caused by waits to get permits and other documents required for keeping with the flight plan.
On Wednesday, a huge crowd of people welcomed Rutherford and celebrated his achievements.
