①并列与递进:and, or, also, neither… nor…, either…or…,likewise, similarly, equally, in the same way, that is to say ,as well as, the same „as, besides, additionally, furthermore, moreover, in addition to ,what is more
②因果:because, for, since, as, thus, hence, therefore, so, so…that, consequently, accordingly, due to, thanks to, as a result, because of, in that, for this reason, of course
③转折让步:but, however, yet, on the contrary, by contrast, on the other hand, unfortunately, while, whereas, unlike, rather than, instead of, it is true that, of course, although, though, even though, even if, nevertheless, despite, in spite of
④时间顺序:afterwards, at first, at last, finally, first, firstly, in the first place, to start with,in the meantime, last, later, next, second, secondly, then, third, thirdly, to begin with以及一些具体的时间。

Passage 1
(2023·江苏·统考二模)“If you buy things you do not need, soon you will have to sell things you need.” This is a piece of wise advice from Warren Buffet, arguably one of the greatest financial minds of the 21th century. 1 This is true especially in the present economic climate.
While the idea of being frugal(节俭的) has long been a part of Eastern culture, the relatively recent growth of wealth in China as well as the ease of purchasing has led to increased consumerism for many across the country. Yet this increased consumption of goods has been pushing up the prices of certain bare essentials such as housing, transportation and food, which is forcing people to reevaluate their priorities while spending money. 2
The internet is flooded with advice on where one can save money as well as good opinions about how they should spend their money. For example, clothes can be bought second-hand, but you should never skip a visit to the dentist. 3 In the meanwhile, you should limit those that are fancy but not entirely necessary. Of course, it is still fine to occasionally spend money on a nice vacation, but buying thirty pairs of shoes you will only wear a few times is neither responsible nor sustainable.
Hopefully, we all fully understand at this point that the resources on the earth are indeed limited. 4 As a result, the choice (forced or not) to be frugal is not only good for one’s wallet, but also beneficial to the planet in the long run. Have you ever chosen to starve yourself to get a pair of limited-edition sneakers? 5
A.A continuous growth model on this planet is by no means sustainable.
B.These words have always not been taken seriously by young people.
C.They are meant to encourage people to buy more stuff than they need.
D.It makes sense to prioritize goods and services that directly affect your health.
E.It is no wonder then that being frugal is once again becoming a dominant trend.
F.Many young people today appear to be taking these words very much to heart.
G.If so, it is high time you started making changes for yourself and for all humanity.

Passage 7
(2023·湖南岳阳·统考三模)Boundaries can be a frightening term, but they’re very simply the expectations and needs that help us feel safe and comfortable. Work is the relationship we spend the most time in, and yet it’s also the place where we have the hardest time setting limits. 31
Identify the boundaries you need to set. You can tell a colleague what hours you are and aren’t available and that you prefer to talk by phone rather than instant messaging. Especially with your bosses, you can show how you like feedback. For example, “I work best with clear deadlines. Can you please set one?” 32 For example, “It makes me feel uncomfortable when you share gossip at my desk.”
Think about when and how to make the statement. 33 You’d better set them as early as possible. That’s a beautiful way to show up in a new work environment with people already knowing what we can and can’t do. Moreover, it’s perfectly acceptable to set boundaries when you don’t feel good. If you get a headache when having five meetings in a day, tell yourself that four will be your maximum.
34 If you say you’re not available after six, don’t respond to the group chat. When you respond to emails or agree to look at that proposal out of those bounds, you’re teaching people that the boundary isn’t real, that it’s OK to violate it. Consistency is really key here. 35
A.Stick to the boundaries you set.
B.Don’t make response quickly.
C.Boundaries are like classroom rules.
D.Here are three steps to help you get started.
E.That might mean restating the boundary more than once.
F.You might be the inspiration that helps them set better boundaries.
G.You can even set boundaries on how you interact with people socially.

32.【答案】G
【解析】根据后文“For example, “It makes me feel uncomfortable when you share gossip at my desk.”(例如,“当你在我的办公桌上分享八卦时,我感到很不舒服。”)”
【解析】根据后文“You’d better set them as early as possible.(你最好尽早把它们设置好)”推知,空处应陈为何要尽早设置好的原因。
34.【答案】 A
【解析】根据后文“If you say you’re not available after six, don’t respond to the group chat. When you respond to emails or agree to look at that proposal out of those bounds, you’re teaching people that the boundary isn’t real, that it’s OK to violate it.
Passage 8
Work from Anywhere Movement
For a lot of us, working from wherever we wanted was a bit of a dream. It would mean we’d be able to visit family and not take holiday days. But suddenly that “dream” of not working in the office became a reality for many. Working from home over the last years has proven that it isn’t always necessary for teams to physically be together and there is more flexibility. 36
An obvious benefit for many employers is reduced costs. With a widespread workforce, there’s no need to have an office big enough for everyone. They also save on travel costs, as meetings that once “needed” to be done face-to-face can now be done online. 37 With the work from anywhere movement, employers can hire global talents. They’re not restricted to people living nearby.
38 In an ever changing and developing working world, offering benefits like this could be what makes a company stand out from another for a specific candidate.
For many employees, working from anywhere supports mental health. 39 Imagine ending a particularly stressful meeting. Rather than going back to your office desk, you step out your door and have a coffee in the sun or walk along a beach. In Addition, working from anywhere allows you to have a better work-life balance. It lets you travel to see family, watch your daughter’s soccer game, and go to the little bakery—all while being paid. 40
A.But it’s not only about money.
B.However, every coin has two sides.
C.It decreases stress and other concerns.
D.Your time is spent on the things that matter.
E.There are a lot of benefits for companies and workers.

39.【答案】 C
【解析】上文“For many employees, working from anywhere supports mental health.
