设计说明
本课时学习有关母爱的诗歌的相关阅读。教学时通过一首关于母爱的歌导入新课;然后采用速读、细读与读后输出的方法,引导学生逐步理解课文;单元语法教学先让学生通过阅读Grammar Focus中的被动语态的句子进行感知体验,然后归纳总结,再通过练习加以巩固。
教学目标
通过本课时的学习,让学生达成以下目标:
1. 知识目标:
(1)单词:tiny, cry, field, hug, lift, badly, awful, teen, regret, poem, community, chance, educate, manage, society
(2)短语:talk back, keep…away from, make one’s own decision
(3)句子: ①When I was a tiny baby crying all night, my mom sang to me and stayed by my side.

掌握含有情态动词的被动语态的谓语结构。

Step 1 Lead-in
Play a song for the students to listen and think.
After listening , have a discussion with students.
• What did you do for your mother on her birthday or on the Mother’ s Day?
• When you have different opinions with your parents, how do you deal with it?

Ask students if they have the following problems with their parents.

Fast reading
Read the poem aloud and discuss what the title means with your partner.
Answer: The title means that a mother always knows what is best for her child, even though the child may disagree with the mother.
Careful reading
1. Read the poem again and answer the questions.
(1)What did the mom do when the writer was a baby and a small child?
(2)Why do you think the writer talked back to his mom when he was seven and nine years old?
(3) How did the writer feel when he was a teenager and his mom said “Please be back by ten”?
(4) After reading the whole poem, how do you think the writer feels about his mom?
