    Section B (3a—Self Check) 5课时

    设计说明

    在本课时的开始,复习巩固上节课所学的单词、短语。接下来让学生思考在初中生活中对自己影响大、自己永远不会忘记的人或事,并做好笔记。根据笔记内容写一篇短文,提升书面表达的能力。在Self Check部分通过回想在过去的三年中让自己兴奋、高兴、担心、伤心等的事情,描述过去的记忆和经历,练习相关句型;通过完成短文进一步练习本单元的语法。最后,通过当堂达标检测进行自我检查。

    教学目标

    通过本课时的学习,让学生达成以下目标:

    1.知识目标

    掌握重点句型。

    2.能力目标

    梳理初中生活中令自己难忘的事情并根据要求完成书面表达

    3.情感目标

    教导学生学会珍惜和感恩。

    Step 2 Warming up

    Work on 3a.

    Think of a person or an event from junior high school that you will never forget. Make some notes about how this person or event changed your life in some way.

    1. Ask the students to read the questions below.

    Who is the person? / What is the event?

    When and where did you first meet this person? / When and where did this event happen?

    How did you feel when you met this person? / How did you feel when this event happened?

    How did this person help you? / What happened later?    

    How has this person’s advice / event changed your life?

    2. Get them to choose a person or an event.

    3. Ask them to try to write down the answers to the questions.

    Step 3 Writing

    Work on 3b.

    Write a passage about the person or event you thought about in 3a.

    1. Before writing, ask the students to know how to write their passages.

    Follow the following steps:

    Step 1: Describe the person/event.

     

     

    Step 2: Explain how you feel about this person/event.

     

     

    Step 3: Describe how this person/event has changed your life.

    2. Teach them some writing methods.

    (1) 写使你印象最深的人/事,有真情实感的文章容易打动人;

    (2) 用上本单元所学习的句型;

    (3) 写作时注意突出六要素: when, where, who, what, how, why;

    (4) 最后总结人/事对自己的影响或自己的感受与收获。

    3. Encourage some students to share their passages.

    Sample writing:

    The person from my junior high school days that I will never forget is Mrs. Wang, my English teacher in Grade 7.

    When I first started Grade 7, I was shy and did not dare to speak to anyone. My English was not very good and I felt nervous when I had to answer questions in class. I would have problems speaking even though I knew the answer. I felt quite unhappy with myself.

    One day Mrs. Wang spoke to me after class. She encouraged me to speak slowly. She also told me that she believed I could speak well if I practiced more. I was touched by what she said and it made me work harder on my speaking skills.

    Mrs. Wang continued to encourage me and I became even more confident. I improved so much that I won an English speech contest that year! I will always be thankful to Mrs. Wang for her advice and support.

    5. Ask the students to work in pairs and tell each other when they felt excited, happy, worried, sad, tired, proud and shy.

    For example:

    A: When did you feel excited during the past three years?

    B: I felt most excited when I won the first prize in the speech competition. How about you?

    A: I felt excited when…

    Work on part 2.

    Fill in the blanks with the correct forms of the verbs in brackets.

    1. Get the students to fill in the blanks on their own.

    2. Check answers by reading the passage. Correct the mistakes.

    Answers:

    I can’t believe (believe) that today is the last day of junior high school. I still remember (remember) the first day of Grade 7 like it was yesterday. I used to be (be) a really shy person, so on the first day of junior high, I was (be) so scared and nervous. I thought (think) that I would never make any friends. But now, I realize (realize) that I was just being silly. Since then, I have made (make) so many good friends and I have shared (share) so many good memories with them. Even though I am (be) sad that junior high is over, I look/am looking (look) forward to new experiences in senior high!
