    教学目标:

    At the end of the class, the students will be able to:

    1. learn the words and expressions.

    2. read 3a and complete 3b and 3c.

    3. retell when and how tea was invented.

    4. If you like, you can talk more about tea. 

    教学重点:

    1. Key vocabulary:

    ruler, boil, remain, smell, national, trade, doubt...

    by acciden , some time, during the 6th and the 7th centuries, take place, without doubt...

    2. Key sentences: 

    a. It is said that a Chinese ruler called Shen Nong was the first to discover tea as a drink. 

    b. The book describes how tea plants were grown and used to make tea.

    c. It also discussed where the finest tea leaves were produced and what kinds of water were used.

    d. It is believed that tea was brought to Korea and Japan during the 6th and 7th centuries.

    3. Structure:

    Practice the passive voice in reading comprehension.Learn about Chinese tea culture.

    1. Ask Ss to have a discussion about tea.

    1. Show some pictures for Ss to look and know aomething about the kinds of tea.
    2. Work on 3a. Ask Ss to read the passage quickly and match each paragraph with its main idea.
    3. Check answers in class.

    Careful reading.

    Make Ss read the passage carefully, and complete the following tasks:

    1. Read Paragraph 1 and answer the questions.

    How long has tea been a kind of drinks?

    When was it invented?

    What is tea used for?

    1. Read Paragraph 2 and fill in the blanks.Then learn something about LuYu and Cha Jing.
    2. Read Paragraph 3 and complete the mind map.

    1. Ask Ss read the passage again and retell the story according to the mind map.

    2. Work on 3b. Read the passage again and answer the questions.

    3. Work on 3c. Complete the sentences with the correct forms of the verbs in the box. Check answers.

    4. Read a passage about brilliant inventions made by accident.

    4. It is believed that tea was brought to Korea and Japan during the 6th and 7th centuries.

    5. The tea trade from China to Western countries took place in the 19th century.

    6. Even though many people now know about tea culture, the Chinese are without doubt the ones who best understand the nature of tea.
