    Takahiro Takauji’s connection to giant pandas began in 2011 when the two Chinese pandas RiRi and Shin Shin arrived in Tokyo in February. One day in August, he decided to see the pair. This casual decision changed his life.
    A month later, Takauji created the website Mainichi Panda, or Panda Every Day. On the website, he showed photos of giant pandas he took at Ueno Zoo. Since then, he’s been visiting the zoo nearly every day to take photos of giant pandas, except for the time when it is closed and his daughter’s birthdays.

    On March 3,2023, members of a girls’ lion dance team were practicing moves of a lion dance at a community activity center in Guangzhou.
    Since it was set up in July 2019, the girls’ lion dance team has won many prizes at different lion dance competitions.     Every day early in the morning, Luo Gang, a worker of China’s first ecomuseum (生态博物馆) in Guizhou Province, cleans up the courtyard to welcome visitors.
    The ecomuseum lies in the Liuzhi Special District. It was built to protect the culture of Qing Miao, which is an ancient and mysterious branch of Miao ethnic group (苗族的支系). Women there wear a piece of special and traditional headwear, which is in the shape of the buffalo horn (水牛角), so the Qing Miao people are also known as “the longhorn Miao people”. They once used buffalo horns to scare off dangerous animals.
    In 1995, a research team traveled to the area. “The villagers were afraid of strangers, and children ran away when they saw us,” said An Laishun, who was among the research team members. “Back then, the Qing Miao people still lived in a closed environment and had a self-sufficient (自给自足的) life, which could hardly be seen in other places.” The research team was invited to build a new type of museum in the province. Finally, team members decided to set up China’s first ecomuseum in Suojia Miao, Yi and Hui Township.
    The ecomuseum is made up of a Qing Miao community and an information center. The community covers 12 villages with 120 square kilometers. And the information center is in Longjia Village. It has valuable cultural objects such as tape recordings of oral (口述的) history, photographs and written sources.
