1.be supposed to do sth.be supposed to do sth.意为“应该/应当做某事”,相当于should do sth.,用来表示根据规定或传统习惯人们不得不做或期待发生的事。be supposed to中的to为动词不定式符号,后接动词原形,be动词有人称和时态的变化。
具体用法①当be supposed to...的主语是“人”时,意为“应该……,被期望……”,可以用来表示劝告、建议、义务、责任等,相当于情态动词should。例如:You’re supposed to ask the teacher if you want to leave the classroom.如果你要离开教室的话,你应该先问问老师。

【注意】suppose作谓语动词后接宾语从句,变为否定句时,否定词应前移。类似的词还有think,believe等。I don’t suppose he will tell you about it.我认为他不会告诉你这件事。
