    At the Nbel Prize Lecture n 7 December, 2015, an 84-year-ld Chinese wman walked slwly n t the stage. She began t talk abut the life-saving drug, artemisinin, which she had discvered with the help f her team in the 1970s. The wman was Tu Yuyu, the first Chinese female scientist t be awarded a Nbel Prize fr her wrk.
    A scientist wh was n the Nbel Prize Cmmittee called Hans Frssberg explained that “the discvery f artemisinin has led t the develpment f new drugs which have saved the lives f millins”. When thanking the Cmmittee fr the hnur, Tu Yuyu said, “This is nt nly an hnur fr myself, but als recgnitin and encuragement fr all scientists in China.”
