Teaching objectives:
1. Enable the students to know the features of exposition and know how to do a summary writing.
2. Lead the students to know foreign people being in harmony with nature to strengthen their awareness of protecting nature.

3. Ask the students to practice writing a summary to find out whether they have known how to do it.
4. Ask the students to summarize the benefits of gardening, fruit and herbal tea to feel the importance of nature to human beings.

Step1: Lead-in
T:Hello!Boys and girls, do you like gardening? In your daily life, do you know anyone who loves gardening?Now let’s come to British people--particularly love gardening--to look at their feelings of gardening.
Read the three sentences to know about British gardeners and use one word to summarize the relationship between British people and gardening.
1.The earliest British gardens were planted in the 1st century AD.
2.By 2020,about 90% of British homes are likely to have a garden.
3.It is estimated that over 8,000 species of insects can be found in a British garden.
From the sentences, we can see that British people garden.
