Changes are happening all the time. Nothing in life ever stays the same. So what can we do when going through life changes? Here are three suggestions:
Find time for self-reflection(自省)
Having time to reflect is important at any time in your life, but it's especially important during the changing time. Self-reflection exercise like meditation (冥想) and yoga needs some quiet time. If we deal with changes correctly, it can give us chances of self-growth.

Shyness can be an unhappy feeling. But the good news is, you're not alone. Scientists say that more than 40 percent of teenagers and adults consider themselves shy.
Scientists say genes(基因), life experiences, and environment can influence whether a person is shy or not. For example, in some families, everybody seems to be shy.
What happens if you are shy? Well, being shy may cause you to avoid or miss opportunities you would enjoy.
How do people overcome(克服) shyness? This is what Gilbert tells us. "When I started to get over being shy, I decided to do little steps at a time, including practicing smiling and saying hi to people. And it worked for me."
But shyness is not the kind of thing that most people can get over overnight. Overcoming shyness takes time and needs practice.
Here are some tips given by scientists.
Think of what to talk about before you leave home. Prepare things to talk about before you're in a social situation. For example, if you know your classmates are interested in an upcoming event, learn about it so you can join in the conversation.
Let people know you're shy. If you're shy, just show it. Instead of letting people guess, tell them the truth. Explain that you are shy and feel nervous but enjoy talking to people.
Make things easy for the other person. Remember you're not the only shy person around.Do what you think might help others feel good —for example, say hello or smile.
Pick one social skill to practice at a time. Start simply. For example, smile or be the first person to say hi. Choose skills you feel comfortable enough with to practice for a day, a week, a month, or even a year.
( )27.According to scientists, can't have an influence on whether a person is shy or not.
A. genes B. life experiences
C. hobbies D. environment
( )28.The writer gives us the example of Gilbert in Paragraph 4 in order to .
A. show how people overcome shyness
B. introduce a shy boy called Gilbert
C. tell the right time to practice smiling
D. explain the steps of overcoming shyness
( )29.What does the underlined word "overnight" in Paragraph 5 most probably mean?
A. Correctly. B. Suddenly.
C. Slowly. D. Finally.
( )30.Which of the following is the right way to overcome shyness?
A. Don't let others know that you are shy.
B. Wait for others to say hello to you first.
C. Choose several skills to practice at a time.
D. Get ready before you join in a social situation.
C(2023·安徽宣城第六中学期中改编)
Modern technology has made our life easier. With an Internet connection and a mobile phone, we can find almost anything. This is the sharing economy (经济), and it is now a $20 billion-a-year business. But some people wonder how good it is for society in general.
People used to live in a hotel on their vacation, but now they can stay in someone's private house. They pay less, but what influence does this have on the hotel industry and the economy? Hotels receive fewer guests, but they still have to pay salaries (薪水) to their workers and taxes (税) to the government. So some hotels might close down.
Then there are car-sharing websites. Instead of using your own car for a long trip, you can get a ride with someone for a small amount of money. Some people think this helps reduce air pollution. But how many people choose to use these websites rather than taking the bus or the train? Public transportation is, after all, much kinder to the environment than cars.
The sharing economy is still growing rapidly. Some economists think it will be worth $335 billion by 2025.As new technology makes accommodations (住宿), transportation, and other services easier, the question "Is it good for the economy, the environment, and people?" will remain.
( )31.What does the underlined word "it" in Paragraph 1 refer to?
A. Great service. B. A mobile phone.
C. Modern technology. D. The sharing economy.
( )32.Which of the following does the writer support most according to Paragraph 3?
A. Driving your own car.
B. Taking the bus or the train.
C. Using car-sharing websites.
D. Getting a ride with someone.
( )33.What do the economists think the sharing economy will be like in the next few years?
A. It will grow.
B. It will be bad for people.
C. It will bring the government trouble.
D. It will help people save more money.
( )34.What is the purpose of the passage?
A. To tell us how to save money.
B. To introduce what the sharing economy is.
C. To encourage us to share with other people.
D. To explain how modern technology makes our life easier.
