 Step 1 Warming-up and leading-in

Greet the whole class first and talk something about the teacher’s own summer vacation, then invite some volunteers to talk about their summer vacation and remind them to review the past tense.

Greet the teacher, answer the teacher’s questions actively, and try using the structure.

Warm the class, lead in the new class.

Step 2 Presentation

Show some pictures on the screen to ask some students to make dialogues to review the past tense.

Step 3 Practice

1. Ask students to read the phrases together and match the activities with pictures quickly, then check their answers one by one.

2. Let students read the names first, and let them guess where they went, then listen and answer: Where did Tina/ Xiang Hua / Sally / Bob/ Tom go? Then finish 1b.

1.Read the phrases in 1a, then finish 1a.

2.Guess and listen to the tape, then finish 1b.

Step 4 Practice

Encourage students to make conversations with their partners and then practice it. After that, invite some pairs to present the conversation.

1.There are three students. They went to different places on vacation. There are also some questions about them. (Explain the questions in 2b to the students).Listen to the tape and please write down the places and check yes or no for each questions.

1. Ask students to read the conversation first and then try to understand the meaning of it.

2. Make groups with three students and then invite some groups to practice the conversations.
