    Step 1:Have a brief introduction to the objectives of this lesson .

    “Today , we are going to learn Unit 11, first let’s look at the objectives of this lesson “

    Objectives :

    1. Be able to know the different feelings.
    2. Be able to use the structure :

    3.Be able to know what is more important in your life .

    Step 2 : How do you feel today ?

    “ We may feel quite different every day , I feel good , how do you feel today “

    Get the students to have a brainstorm .

    Step 2:What can make you feel different ?

    “ Every day , we may change from one mood to another , so what make you feel different ? “

    1.Display some pictures to help students say out the reasons.

    They are movies, seasons , weather, sports, foods and tests.

    2.Pairwork

    A:What can make you … ?

    B: … can always make me …

    Step 3. What can make you happy or sad ?

    “ of all the moods , be happy and be sad are the two basic ones.

    1. Get the students to do pairwork

    A:What can make you happy ?

    B:Books/Reading books can make me happy .

    music , listen to music

    friends, spend time with friends

    comedies, watch comedies

    soccer , play soccer

    vacations , have vacations

    A: What can make you sad ?

    B: Rainy days can make me sad .

    Step 4:Review the story of the king

    “ We have learned the story of A happy shirt, in this story , the king had ……, the poor man had … . so we know the king almost had everything , but he was unhappy , the poor almost had nothing , but he was quite happy ”

     

    Get the students to brainstorm :

    The king was sad every day .

    He had power.

    He had wealth .

    He had army.

    He had the whole country

    The poor man was happy every day.

    He had no power.

    He had no money.

    He had no family.

    He had no place to live in

    Step 5 : what is more important in your life ?

    “after the story , there is a questions lying ahead of us , what is more important in your life?”

    1.Display some pictures to help the students say out the answers :

    Friendship , family , teamwork , power, wealth, fame, health

    1. groupwork : what is more important in yourlifeWhy?  

    I think … is more important , because …

    1. Family can always make me warm and safe . 

    Friendship can always make me  happy and make me know the meaning of sharing . 

    Teamwork can always make me strong and make me know the importance of cooperation. 

    Step 6 : learning a passage : A winning team !

    “ today we are going to learn a passage . it is about a boy Peter , who likes soccer very much and he is on school soccer team , but one day he was very angry , read the passage quickly and try to find the reason”

    I.1.What made Peter angry ?

    Losing the soccer game made him angry.

    His stupid mistakes made him angry .

    2.What is more important during a soccer game ?

    Teamwork or team effort is more important

    II.Detailed reading .

    1. What is more important in a soccer game to Peter’s father ?

    Winning or losing is only half the game .

    The other half is learning how to communicate with your teammates and learning your mista

    1. What did Peter’s teammates say after he said sorry to his teammates ?

    Don’t worry about it .
