Zibo barbecue offers a distinctive dining experience. On each table is a small stove. Customers can process skewers(肉串) themselves and then wrap them in a thin pancake, usually with a spring onion inside. The experience of making “Zibo barbecue” offers a sense of participation and leisure time for diners.
Data from Meiuan and Dazhong Dianping show that booking volume for accommodation in Zibo during the five-day May Day holiday is 800 percent higher than that in 2019.Local media in Zibo said the number of passengers arriving and departing through Zibo railway station has reached 50,000 a day, setting a record in the past three years, with most of them being tourists who come to taste Zibo barbecue.
The local government has grasped the chance brought by the sudden trend, to attract more tourists. As early as March 10, it has set up prizes for barbecue shops that are popular among tourists, established a barbecue association, and announced the opening of a barbecue festival during the May Day holiday. In order to encourage people to visit the city,Zibo also set up a specially customized “barbecue map”, and added 21 new barbecue bus lines, so that tourists can“get on the bus to rest, get off to eat”.
“Barbecue and tourism have limited influence on stimulating the economy, But this is an opportunity for more people to get to know Zibo’s enthusiasm and business environment, which will attract more investment and create more jobs. This is what really matters,” Wang Dazhuang, a local Zibo citizen said.

根据后面对淄博烧烤的描述以及“The experience of making “Zibo barbecue” offers a sense of participation and leisure time for diners.( “淄博烧烤”的制作体验为食客提供了一种参与感和休闲时间。)”
根据第二段“Data from Meiuan and Dazhong Dianping show that booking volume for accommodation in Zibo during the five-day May Day holiday is 800 percent higher than that in 2019.Local media in Zibo said the number of passengers arriving and departing through Zibo railway station has reached 50,000 a day, setting a record in the past three years, with most of them being tourists who come to taste Zibo barbecue.(美团和大众点评的数据显示,在为期五天的五一假期期间,淄博的住宿预订量比2019年增长了800%。淄博当地媒体称,每天通过淄博火车站进出站的旅客人数达到5万人,创下了过去三年的纪录,其中大多数是来品尝淄博烧烤的游客。)”可知,作者意在用这些数据表明淄博烧烤带火了淄博这座城市的旅游业。故选B。
【6题详解】
主旨大意题。根据第三段“The local government has grasped the chance brought by the sudden trend, to attract more tourists.(当地政府抓住了这一突如其来的趋势所带来的机会,以吸引更多的游客。)” 故选A。

Kindness is regarded as a true strength, and the success of civilizations relies on kindness. We teach children from a young age to “be kind to one another” and “treat others the way you want to be treated”. Being kind is even shown to be good for well-being. According to Mayo Clinic, when we perform acts of kindness, the pleasure center in our brain is activated, releasing the stress-reducing hormone. Individuals who volunteer on a regular basis report greater life satisfaction. That said, consider the following question: Could kindness ever be considered harmful to us when it has such clear benefits? Let’s think about this assuming we are in the workplace.
You are a new person on the team, and you want to be well-liked and respected by your co-workers. You’re a kind person and tell your team,“Let me know how I can help you; I am always available to help.” Though you may truly mean it, there are people in the world who can consider your kindness is weakness unfortunately. This can lead to you being taken advantage of by others.
Let’s fast-forward to a year later, you have been in your position now for one year and you are working with the same team. You notice that your co-workers continue asking for your succor over and over again. In fact, the only time they interact with you is when they need something. You have been always at your co-workers’ service and there has rarely been any return from them. Imagine the level of your discouragement you are feeling.
In a very broad sense, it is advantageous to be kind to others, and your kind acts will be appreciated and, perhaps, pay off. However, you need to be willing to say “no”. When people ask you for a favor, asses if you have the time, energy and attention to get to them. To truly be kind, sometimes you need to be more comfortable saying “no” to others and saying “yes” to yourself.
8. Why is Mayo Clinic mentioned?
A. To show the positive effects of kindness.
B. To explain the reasons for being kind.
C. To stress the importance of kindness.
D. To assess the current kindness education.
9. In the workplace, what’s the fact that discourages you?
A. Your colleagues never interact with you.
B. You work with the same team in the same position for a year.
C. You hardly receive any return for your service from your colleagues.
D. You always fail to serve your colleagues and receive no returns from them.
10. What does the author suggest doing in the last paragraph?
A. Finding the best way to refuse others.
B. Acknowledging your efforts and sacrifices.
C. Being grateful for others’ kind gestures.
D. Being a little more self-focused.
11. What’s the text mainly discussing?
A. Is the power of kindness undervalued?
B. Why are random acts of kindness important?
C. Are we hurting ourselves with kindness?
D. How can showing kindness promote well-being?
A 9. C 10. D 11. C
根据第一段“Being kind is even shown to be good for well-being.(善良甚至被证明有益于幸福。)” 故选A。
根据第三段“You have been always at your co-workers’ service and there has rarely been any return from them.(你总是在为你的同事服务,却很少得到他们的回报。)”
根据最后一段“When people ask you for a favor, asses if you have the time, energy and attention to get to them. To truly be kind, sometimes you need to be more comfortable saying “no” to others and saying “yes” to yourself.(当别人找你帮忙时,你要知道自己是否有时间、精力和注意力去帮他们。要真正做到善良,有时候你需要对别人说“不”而对自己说“是”。)”可推断,作者给出的建议是要注重自我一些。故选D。
【11题详解】
主旨大意题。根据文章首段发出的提问,“Could kindness ever be considered harmful to us when it has such clear benefits?(当善良有如此明显的好处时,它会被认为对我们有害吗?)”
D
Thanks to the pandemic, more people are or have been working from home. Multiple studies and surveys have shown that many would like to carry on doing so, even as the threat from COVID-19 fades. However, new research carried out in the USA suggests that in-person teams tend to perform better in creativity at certain tasks than those working through videoconferencing software.
The initial study involved 602 participants, including university students and staff. With half the pairs sitting face-to-face in one room, and half using videoconferencing software, subjects were asked to come up with novel uses for a product. The researchers found that the in-person teams generated a greater number and wider range of ideas than the virtual teams. But when it came to their ability to pick the ‘best’ idea rated by comparing the creativity scores of the ideas they chose with the scores of those picked by the judges, there was little difference between the two groups.
To make sure the study wasn’t specific to any given population group, the tests were then conducted again, with 1,490 engineers working for a large company from five other countries. For this second set of tests, participants were asked to come up with new product ideas for their real-life employer. Using a variety of methods, the researchers found that people in the in-person group looked around the room and talked with each other more, whereas those using videoconferencing software took it in turns to speak and kept their eyes on the screen. These things negatively connected to idea generation.
“This new research was an important first step. But this is a single study and the effects are somewhat small, amounting to a difference in one or two ideas between the groups. How much impact this has would depend on the company itself. ” said Dr. Jay Olson, who studies ways to measure creativity.
12. What did the new research made in America show?
A. Relaxing environment leads to great ideas.
B. Videoconferencing makes creativity likely happen.
C. Home-working surroundings bring about creativity.
D. Interaction in-person better contributes to novel ideas.
13. In what way did the two groups tested in the initial study reveal little difference?
A. The ability to pick the best ideas. B. The methods to tell the best ideas.
C. The number of best ideas produced. D. The scores obtained in creating ideas.
14. Why was the research conducted again?
A. To make the test more convincing. B. To engage more people in the study.
C. To arouse the creativity of the subjects. D. To classify the participants of the study.
15. What did Dr. Jay Olson suggest?
A. Conducting more researches. B. Treating the effects critically.
C. Making full use of the findings. D. Clarifying the results of the study.
D 13. A 14. A 15. B
根据第一段中“However, new research carried out in the USA suggests that in-person teams tend to perform better in creativity at certain tasks than those working through videoconferencing software.(然而,在美国开展的一项新研究表明,面对面的团队在某些任务上的创造力往往比通过视频会议软件工作的团队表现得更好)”可知,美国的这项新研究表明了面对面的互动更有助于产生新颖的想法。
根据第二段中“The researchers found that the in-person teams generated a greater number and wider range of ideas than the virtual teams. But when it came to their ability to pick the ‘best’ idea rated by comparing the creativity scores of the ideas they chose with the scores of those picked by the judges, there was little difference between the two groups.(研究人员发现,面对面的团队比虚拟团队产生的想法更多,范围更广。但是,当涉及到他们选择“最佳”创意的能力时,通过比较他们选择的创意和评委选择的创意的得分,两组人之间几乎没有差异)”可知,在最初的研究中,两组测试在选择最佳想法的能力方面显示出很少的差异。故选A。
根据第三段中“To make sure the study wasn’t specific to any given population group, the tests were then conducted again, with 1,490 engineers working for a large company from five other countries.(为了确保这项研究不是针对任何特定人群,研究人员再次对来自其他五个国家的一家大公司的1490名工程师进行了测试)”可知,再次进行这项研究是为了让测试更有说服力。故选A。
根据最后一段中“But this is a single study and the effects are somewhat small, amounting to a difference in one or two ideas between the groups. How much impact this has would depend on the company itself.(但这是一项单独的研究,影响有点小,相当于两组之间的一个或两个想法的差异。这有多大影响将取决于公司本身)”可推知,杰伊·奥尔森博士的建议是批判性地对待其结果。故选B。
第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分)

47. 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
I was at Lens Crafters waiting to pick up my new pair of glasses. A mom as well as her little girl walked in. The mom was probably in her late twenties and the little girl was about five.
Both of their clothes were badly dated to say the least. It was obvious that the family’s financial windfall (意外之财) had not yet arrived. I overheard a comment the comment made to the saleslady that she was in between job 1 and job 2 of the day, so she didn't have a lot of time.
The little girl and the mom proceeded around the store looking at these little tiny frames for the girl’s face. The saleslady was helping them try on frames and pulling aside her favorites.
You knew how some little kids actually looked ten times cuter in glasses, and so the little girl did. She found these cute little frames with a butterfly on them. She was so happy, smiling from ear to ear while she looked at herself in the mirror.
The saleslady rang the glasses up on the till (收银台). The mom pulled out a coupon (优惠券), and the saleslady stared blankly at the coupon. She then explained that for some reason this coupon could not be used, pointing out the miniscule (极小的) words printed at the bottom.
Then the mom chatted back and forth for a bit with the saleslady and then finally leaned down to her daughter and explained to her that there would be no glasses that day, maybe next month she said.
The little girl’s eyes started to tear up. The mom leaned a little closer and told her it would be OK and that she needed a little more time to save up for them. The little girl responded, “But Mommy, I can’t see and I want to be able to see when I start school next week. I want to do well, Mommy! What if I’m in the back?”
注意:1.续写词数应为150左右;

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The saleslady was so moved.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Seeing this, I quietly called the saleslady over. I told her that she either honored the coupon or let me buy them. The saleslady chose the latter and explained that she had to obey the store’s rules. I asked her to give me the bill. After looking at it, I started putting my cash in the counter. Seeing this, other customers around me donated their money as well to help the little girl.
The saleslady was so moved. Realizing immediately she could also do something to help, she went over and bent down next to the little girl, holding the frames and said, “Do you like these frames, sweetie?” The little girl fought back her tears and shook her head. The saleslady apologized to the mom, informing her that she just realized that she actually had misread the coupon and that there would be no problem honoring it. She said, “That will be fifty dollars madam, just as the coupon had stated.” The mom proudly took out the fifty dollars she had saved and paid for the glasses.
