一、教学目标
1. 熟练掌握形容词的比较级的用法。
2. 能运用所学的知识,介绍并比较两个场所。
3. 能够在了解美国华盛顿城市文化背景、地理风情等基础上,培养学生对祖国的热爱。
二、教学重点及难点
重点:1. 掌握本单元的单词、短语、句型及语法。
2. 对家乡的两个场所进行比较并汇报。
难点:熟练掌握形容词比较级的用法。
三、教学准备
1. 多媒体设备和课件;
2. 设计课后巩固练习;
3. 教学图片。
四、教学过程
Step 1 Warming-up
1. Memory Challenge
T asks Ss to try to say the comparative form of all the following adjectives as quickly as possible.
2. Free talk
T asks Ss to make up a dialogue in pairs to compare people.
【设计意图】通过记忆挑战游戏检查学生对形容词比较级构成规则的记忆情况;通过让学生自由对话练习综合运用所学知识进行口头输出。

Activity 7
Listen and complete the sentences.
【设计意图】考查学生听并提取主要信息的能力,同时通过对比中美两国几个大城市的不同之处,为学生提供了更多的文化信息。
1. T presents a picture and asks Ss what they know about Washington DC.
2. Have Ss read the passage chorally for pronunciation recognition.
3. Tell Ss to read the article individually and tick true or false.
4. Elicit answers from the whole class.
【设计意图】为学生了解华盛顿的文化背景和地理风情等提供了资料。
Step 3 Production
1. Pair the Ss to decide which places they want to research.
2. Tell Ss to read through what they should find out.
3. Tell them to list the information they already know about the places.
Activity 9
1. Ask Ss to write their information in the table and join them.
2. Ask them to add other information to the table.
3. T shows Ss an example.
Activity 10~11
1. Ask Ss to write sentences with the information in the table.
2. Explain that they can write three paragraphs to make their reports.
3. Ask Ss to make their reports. Remind them they can draw, add brochures and so on if they like.
4. Ask them to stand up and read their reports to the class.
【设计意图】考查学生综合运用本模块所学语言结构和话题词汇进行口头和笔头输出的能力,同时有利于丰富学生的地理文化知识。

1. Review the key words, phrases and grammar in this module.
