Unit 2 This year we are training more carefully.

一、教学目标

1. 能够掌握新词汇和短语：beat, careless, coach, against, cheer…on, play against, warm up等。

2. 能够掌握重点句型：

We all arrive as early as we can so that we have time to warm up.

We are training harder than usual because the other team beat us last year.

That means we have a better chance of winning.

They cheer us on loudly and we feel more confident to win the game.

3. 能够读懂描写体育运动的短文，明确文章的主旨大意，并能够从文章找出信息，正确回答相关问题。

4. 能够运用形容词和副词的比较级来描写体育运动。

5. 通过本课的学习，能够意识到体育竞技项目的团队意识，提高凝聚力。

二、教学重点及难点

重点：

1. 掌握本单元的新单词和短语。

2. 读懂描写体育运动的短文，明确文章的主旨大意，并能够从文章找出信息，正确回答相关问题。

难点：

运用形容词和副词的比较级来描述体育运动。

四、教学过程

Step 1 Warming-up

Look at the pictures and talk about them.

Step 2 Pre-reading

1. T shows some pictures one by one. Then ask the class to read the new words and expressions.

2. T asks Ss to go through the words and expressions and checks if they know the meanings of all the words and expressions.

3. Ask Ss to work in groups and talk about the pictures. Remind Ss to use the words and expressions in the box.

4. Invite some Ss to share their answers.

Step 3 While-reading

1. Ss read the passage and match each paragraph with the main idea.

2. T asks the class to read Para.1 and answer the questions.

3. T asks the class to read Para.2 and 3 and answer the questions.

4. Ss read Para.4 and fill in the blanks.

5. T asks Ss to read and complete the table.

Step 4 Post-reading

1. Fill in the blanks and retell the passage.

2. Learn the language points.

9. T asks the class to write a passage about the school basketball team.

10. Ask some volunteers to share their passages with the whole class.
