1. Show a picture about a party and ask the class to
discuss the following questions:

What do people do at a party?
2. Get some students to give their answers.

1. Get the students to read the new words aloud by themselves.

1. Jack is going back to Canada soon. 杰克不久就要回加拿大去了。
(1)is going构成现在进行时态,但在此处表示将要发生的动作。go, come, fly, leave等表示位置移动的动词,其进行时态常表示根据计划将要发生的动作。
We are going to Beijing this weekend. 这个周末我们将去北京。
They are coming soon. 他们很快就会到来。
(2) soon副词,意为“不久”,常与将来时态连用。

4. I come from Sydney, Australia. 我来自澳大利亚的悉尼。
come from意为“来自”,相当于be from。
Han Mei comes from Shanghai. = Han Mei is from Shanghai.

Where does Mr. Wang come from? = Where is Mr. Wang from?
