1. Why are we alive?
alive , live , living 的用法区别:
alive 多用于指人,在句中只能做表语或定语.
live 用于指物,放在名词前,只做定语,意为“活的”.
living 既可指人,也可指物,指没有死或消失,继续生存,活动或起着作用。
Eg:
(1)He is the greatest artist ________ today.
(2)It caught a ______ mouse .
(3) Look, the tiger is still _______.
(4)Is his father still _______?
2. I think that you will succeed if you work hard.
if引导条件状语从句,如果主句为一般将来时,从句为一般现在时. if引导的从句可以在前,也可在后,如果在前,后用逗号与主句分开。
(1)We’ll go for a picnic if it _________________(not rain) tomorrow.
(2)If you _____________(not hurry), you’ll be late for class.
(3)We ________(play) football with him if he ________(come) tomorrow.
三、知识点拨:
1.deep in thought 在句中常作表语,也可作状语,表示伴随状态。其同义短语为lost in thought陷入深思。
2.think about,think of和think over 辨析
think about表示“考虑”,可接名词、动词-ing形式或由疑问词引导的不定式或宾语从句。
think of意为“考虑到,想到”时,后常接名词、代词或动词-ing形式;意为“认为”时,一般用于疑问句中,与what连用。
think over意为“仔细考虑”,后接名词或代词作宾语,当后接代词时,应把代词放在中间。
3.meaning/̍miːnIŋ/n.意思 meaning还可表示“(人生的)意义;价值,目标”。
mean表示“……的意思”,表达句型如下:
What’s the meaning of...?
What does...mean?
What do you mean by...?
4.if引导宾语从句的用法
if引导宾语从句时,意为“是否”,常和whether互换使用,常放在动词ask,see,say,know等后面。
只能用whether的情况:
1).在动词不定式前只能用whether;
2).在whether or not固定搭配中,只能用whether;
3).在介词后,只能用whether。
if 引导条件状语从句的用法
主将从现:if引导的条件状语从句,主句是将来时,从句使用一般现在时。
5.be good to意为“对……友好”。
