一、教学目标
1.能够熟练应用以下句型,向他人求助某个单词的拼写方法:
— What’s that in English? — It’s an orange.
— Spell it, please. — O-R-A-N-G-E.
2. 能够区分元音字母I和O在重读开、闭音节中的不同发音/aɪ/和/ɪ/、/əʊ/和/ɔ/
二、教学重难点
教学重点:
- 能运用所学的句型询问确认周围的事物,并学会事物的英语名称。
- 总结元音字母a、e、i、o在单词中的读音规则。
教学难点:
总结归纳元音字母Aa、Ee、Ii与Oo在单词中的常见发音规律,并能利用所学的规律尝试
拼读新的单词。

四、教学过程
Task I
Step 1. Pre-listening
1.Guide Ss to read the English letters Ii—Rr and make gestures.
2.Guide Ss to say the words: cup, pen, key, jacket, ruler, quilt, map, orange.
3.Let Ss practice the conversation with his/her partner.
— What’s this in English?
— It’s a map.
— Spell it, please.
— M-A-P.
【设计意图】从听、说、读、写四个方面复习所学的字母,单词和句型。
Step 2. While-listening
Ask Ss to listen to the conversations and number the words Ss hear [1-4].
(1) Tell Ss to read the words in the box aloud and make sure they know the meaning of every word.
(2) Play the recording for Ss to listen and number the words they hear.
【设计意图】通过听力锻炼学生听关键信息的能力。
Step 3. Post-listening
Let Ss talk about the things in the picture.
(1) Introduce the picture.
T: Look at the picture in 3e. This is Helen’s room. Eric and Helen are talking about the objects in her room. What can you see in the room?
Ss: A map, a ruler, a pen, an orange, a quilt, a cup and a jacket.
(2) Let Ss work with their partners and ask and answer about the objects in Helen’s room.
【设计意图】通过看图片读图片,锻炼学生口语表达能力,用英语询问和介绍物品名称。
Task II (4a- 4d)
Step 1. Pre-listening
1.Ask Ss to fill in the missing letters in 4a.
2.Check the answers with partners.
3.Ask Ss to read the words aloud in the box of 4b and then number the words in alphabetical order on textbook.
4. Then check the answer together.
【设计意图】全面复习字母A到R的音和形。
Step 2. While-listening
Ask Ss to listen and repeat the letters and words in 4c.
1.Play the tape twice for Ss to listen.
2.Play the recording again for Ss to listen and repeat.
【设计意图】让学生通过听力感知字母I和O在重读开、闭音节中的不同发音。
Step 3. Post-listening
1. Ask Ss to say and listen to the two pronunciations of the letters a, e, i and o in the words, and then elicit them to find the rules.
A: [eɪ] [æ] E: [i:] [e] I: [ai] [i] O: [əu] [ɔ]
【设计意图】让学生通过听并感知字母在重读开、闭音节中的不同发音,掌握探究发现的学习策略。
2.Let Ss read the words and letters in column 1.
3.Let some Ss try to read the new words in column 2. Correct their pronunciations.

Step 4. Summary
Ask Ss to talk about what they learnt today.
- 向他人求助某个单词的拼写方法:
(1)— What’s that in English? — It’s an orange.
(2)— Spell it, please. — O-R-A-N-G-E
2. 发音规律:
元音字母I在重读开音节中发 /aɪ/,在重读闭音节中发 /ɪ/。
元音字母O在重读开音节中发/əʊ/,在重读闭音节中发/ɔ/。

Step 5. Homework
1. 默写字母I至R,大小写各一遍。
2. 用英语进行询问本单元所学单词的拼写。
