Many people go to school for education.They learn languages,history,politics,geography,physics,chemistry and mathematics.Others go to school to learn a skill so that they can make a living.School education is very important and useful.Yet,no one can learn everything from school.A teacher,no matter how much he knows,cannot teach his students everything they want to know.The teacher’s job is to show his students how to learn.He teaches them how to read and how to think.So,much more is to be learned outside school by the students themselves.

Ireland has had a very difficult history.The problems started in the 16th century when English rulers tried to conquer (征服) Ireland.For hundreds of years,the Irish people fought against the English.Finally,in 1921,the British government was forced to give independence to the south of Ireland.The result is that today there are two “Irelands”.Northern Ireland,in the north,is part of the United Kingdom.The Republic of Ireland,in the south,is an independent country.
