Learning ability(学习能力):Try to understand the passive voice(the simple past tense).Correctly use the sentences patterns to talk about the inventions. Thinking ability(思维品质):Understand some modern inventions which influence the human life.Collect some small story about inventors..Cultural awareness(文化意识):By discussing important modern inventions, stimulate students' thinking about the improvement of human lifestyles through scientific progress. While understanding modern inventions, compare the four major aspects of ancient China. Enhance national pride, educate cultural confidence, and inspire students to have the courage to create.教学重点 Function of talk about the inventions and inventors.教学难点The passive voice of the simple past tense.教学方法Introduction  Listening skills   Function structure   Group work教学准备Teacher preparationpictures and videosexample sentencesStudent preparationSchool supplies 教学过程Teaching process教学环节Steps教师活动Teachers Activities学生活动StudentsActivities设计意图Design purpose导入新课Leading in Greeting each other. To show the picture of ancient paper making and printing in China and encourage students to say out two other inventions. Greeting Free talk To introduce the topic. 讲授新课Teaching the new lesson导入新课(Lead in) To show the pictures of the four great inventions of ancient China and teach the words. To explain the inventors one by one and get students to read and remember. Encourage students to  sort in chronological order. Explain the answers. Get students to enjoy a short video about the four great inventions in China. To teach the similar words:invent,inventor and invention. 听力训练Listening To show the the pictures about four modern invents and get students to say out the words. Encourage students to say something about these inventions they have known. Get students to number their invent time and give the reasons by using the function patterns. Check the answers together. Read the time in 1b and explain the rules how to read the year. Play the tape for the first time and get students to match the inventions with the years. Listen again and check the answers together. Play the tape for the third time and get students read after the tapes and under line the passive voice in listening material. Get students to pay attention to the be verbs and simple explain the structure of the simple structure of the passive voice of the simple past tense. 对话及句式练习(Presentation & Pair work To show the picture about Bell and phone. Describe the invention relationship between Bell and the telephone using the active and passive voices, respectively. Get students to read and learn the sentences pattern. To give other pictures about the inventions and inventor which we have listened and encourage students to describe the relationship between them by using the sentence pattern. Read the task and the dialogue to catch the main idea. Get students to make their own dialogues with their partner. Choose several groups to act out their works. 归纳总结Summary & Practice To show three similar meaning words on the blackboard and get student to distinguish. Explain them one by one by showing some example sentences. Get students to finish some exercise. Check the answer together. Try to talk about the the four great inventions in China and learn some new words.       Finish the listening tasks and learn something about modern inventions.Learn the simple structure of  the passive voice of the simple past tense.      To learn the function structures and make conversation with partner.            Analysis and finish some exercise. Teach new words and collect some culture information.         Practice listening skills and enrich some information about some modern inventions.To show the simple structure of  the passive voice of the simple past tense.        To teach function structures and practice oral English.             Exercise课堂小结本节课通讨论了发明这一话题,通过对比中国古代四大发明及现代发明调动学生使用一般过去时的被动语态,理解被动语态中关于时态的使用方法,同时激发学生对科学影响生活的认识。板书设计Unit 6 When was it invented?一般过去时的被动语态:was/ were + 及物动词-ed形式e.g.Bell invented the first telephone in 1876.The first telephone was invented (by Bell)  in 1876. 课后作业Preview the conversation in 2d.Do the exercises in studentsbook.课后反思 Advantages(亮点):本课使用了大量的介绍和排序使学生对发明创造的时间、顺序及影响产生了兴趣,并丰富了一些科学文化知识。2.Disadvantages(不足):听力练习不是十分充足,没有深挖材料,简单的完成课本任务没有充分练习听力技巧。。3.Teaching Advice(教学建议):教师结合实际情况查找一些听力素材,帮助学生丰富课外知识,设计一些关于时间、人物、目的等的问题锻炼听力技巧
