    At an internatinal vcatinal and technical educatin cnference in Tianjin last mnth, Li nted that there is n difference between vcatinal educatin and rdinary educatin, and “vcatinal educatin is nt ‘secndary’ nr shuld it ever be treated as less than rdinary educatin”. “Vcatinal educatin has the missin f fstering a quality wrkfrce and technical experts fr the cuntry. The hardwrking spirit is the key t building any rdinary peple int leading persnnel,” he said.
    Li jined the institute in 1993 and later funded a machinery engineering practice center, prviding free training t 7,500 peple a week. In 2015, he led a team f teachers t wrk fr 40 days t renvate 124 machine tls in the center. Li has devted himself t building the cuntry's first additive manufacturing technique and applicatin center at the institute t satisfy the thirst fr the cuntry's human resurces in 3D printing.

    Cmpser Gerge Lam has always liked writing music inspired by places.

    Lam created the app Family Assciatin. He calls the piece—the free app—Family Assciatin, after the imprtant flk grups that line the streets f the neighbrhd. Chinese family assciatins have been a bridge between new immigrants and mre established nes since the late 1800s. In Chinatwns acrss the cuntry, they're a place t find resurces r an apartment, talk business r plities, maybe get a COVID sht. But they're als a place t scialize with peple wh share similar experiences.

As they walk clser t ne f the family assciatin buildings, the fcus is n ne f the five ral histry participants, telling their stries. These stries aren't abut the family assciatins. Instead they're abut the Chinese­American experience and hw they've felt supprted by Chinatwn.
    But Lam thinks f the app itself as a kind f virtual family assciatin, cnnecting these Chinese­American vices with each ther, even if they've never met. And he hpes t cnnect with visitrs t—at the end f the sundwalk, users are given a chance t recrd their wn memries.
