cmpetitin表示广义上的“竞争”之外，Cntest：强调素质，技能的比赛，比如，演讲比赛speech cntest；另外，有的时候Cmpetitin也可以用来替换cntest
Match：对抗性体育运动，比如球类，拳击等Race：强调速度的比赛，比如田径Game：强调游戏类或者不大正式的比赛，比如跳绳比赛rpe-skipping game; 但，奥运会除外

因为奥林匹克运动会是有很多比赛的，所以经常把他看作复数，即使是作为整体出现，也要看作复数。The Olympic Games in the year 2008 were spectacular.

KEY STRUCTURE 比较级和最高级 26， 32， 54，56等课中进一步扩展
1.单音节形容词/少数以-er/w结尾的形容词和副词，加er或者est变成比较级或者最高级Great-greater-greatestClever-cleverer-cleverestNarrw-narrwer-narrwest
2.以-e结尾的单音节形容词和副词以及少数以-ble, -ple结尾的双音节形容词和副词后，加-r/-st，比如Large-larger-largestAble-abler-ablestSimple-simpler-simplest
3． 以一个辅音字母结尾的单音节形容词，如果其前的元音字母发短元音，要双写该辅音字母，然后加-er/est，例如：Ht-htter-httest
4. 以辅音加y结尾的形容词，和少数不是由“形容词+ly”构成的副词要将y改为i，然后加上er/estEasy-easier-easiestEarly-earlier-earliestHappy-happier-happiest
5. 双音节和多音节的形容词和副词通常是在原级前加上Mre,或者Mst构成比较级和最高级：beautiful-mre beautiful-mst beautiful; carefully-mre carefully-mst carefully
不过，以形容词词缀Un开头的三音节形容词不适用于上述情况，而是直接按照er/est的方式，比如unhappy-unhappier-unhappiest
6. 少数单音节形容词也通过mre, mst构成比较级和最高级，如tired- mre tired – mst tired; pleased – mre pleased – mst pleased
7. 还有一些形容词，副词的比较级和最高级可以有两种构成方法：Cruel-crueler/mre cruel-cruelest/mst cruel同样的还有：ften, strict, friendly
8. 以-ing/-ed分词演变过来的形容词（包括不规则动词)，只能用Mre/ mst的方式来变成比较级和最高级Striking, interesting, wunded, wrn
特别说明：knwnKnwn, well knwn, better knwn, best knwn
8. 特殊形式： gd/well, bad/ill, many/much, little, far, ld辨析：Farther, further; elder/lder
1.比较级+thanThe pen is better than that ne.
2. Less/mre+比较级+thanThe rm is less beautiful than that ne.The play is mre interesting than that ne.
3.在比较级前，我们可以加上表示程度的状语，比如even, a lt, a bit, a little, still, much, far等，比如：He wrks even harder than befre.He is a lt better than his rival.
