Step 2 presentation (1a-1b)(about 5minutes)(As students ,we should obey the school rules.Please look at the picture in 1a and tell us what happening .)S5:what happened to the boy at the door in the picture? (T: what’s happening to the boy in the picture ,s1?S1:He is late for class.T: Do you ever get to class late? How often do you get to school late?S1:Sometimes (ppt展示Always ,usually, sometimes ,or never?)T:oh, you sometimes get to school late. What about others?Next, let’s read the questions in 1A and write “A”for always ,”U” for usually,”S” for sometimes or “N” for never.)2.1.Students will do it alone first and then have free talk like this:A: Do you ever get to class late?B:Yes,I sometimes get to class late.2.2 Have students read the conversation in 1b,andthen talk in pairs using their answers in 1a. as the pairs work together ,walk around the classroom offering help if necessary.2.3 Three pairs act outStep 3 listening (about15minutes)(T:What will happen if you get to school late?S2:The teacher may be angry with me.T:What about peter?let’s listen to a conversation between Peter and his father. What things is he talking about with his father? Let’s listen and circle the things in 1a that Peter is taking about.)Pre-listening: 3.1 Students read the new phrases in 1a loudly,3.2 explain the meaning of the exercise and the sentence structure.for example, worry about failing a test,finish doing sth3.3 call Students’s attention to the questions in 1a.Listen and finish 1c3.4 Listen again and check answers by asking them to repeat the key sentences.While-listening:3.5 Have students look through the two columns in the box of 1d and explain the phrases3.6Then they will guess the answers and listen to the tape 3rd time.3.7Play the recording for the fourth time and check answers by answer my questions like this :(T:Is Peter worried about his math test?S:yes,he thinks he is going to fail his math test.Is he allowed to get to class late ?S:he isn’t allowed to get to class late.Was he allowed to take the test after he got to class late ?his father said he was not allowed to take the test later.school has to have rules.How did he feel about his test?S:He knew he could pass the test.What did peter think about the rule ?He thinks it’s unfair if they don’t even give me a chance.)Post-listening:3.8 Invite a student to read the complete sentences and the rest of the class check their answers.3.9Read after the tape and understand the key structure:(I think i’m going to fail a math test.I’m not allowed to get to class late.\And you weren’t allowed to take the test ?But i know i could pass that test.But they should let me take the test later.)Step4:Group work(about9minutes)(Do you think peter should be allowed to take the test later ?)4.1read the statements in 1e and explain the phrases “be strict with /in ”,two ss will make new sentences using the phrases .4.2 discuss the first statement and complete the sentences in the box.A:I think peter should be allowed to take the test later.B:I don’t agree.C:I think the school has to have rules.4.3 Divide the class into groups of four and ask them to discuss the statements in groups.4.4 Students discuss in groups to complete the task in 1e and act out .They can follow the structures like this :I think…,I don’t agree(why)….,In my opinion,...(教师板书以上句型)Step6: summary and homework(about 2minutes)I’m allowed to …I’m not allowed to
