语法规则一、主语从句的定义在主从复合句中充当主语的从句即为主语从句。主语从句的位置可以在句首, 也可以用it作形式主语, 主语从句放在后面。❶What please me mst is that their artistic talent is extremely shcking.最让我高兴的是,他们的艺术天赋是非常惊人的。❷It wrried the mther that her sn was always playing cmputer games.儿子总玩电脑游戏,这让他的母亲很担心。❸It is nt a prblem whether we can win the battle; it's just a matter f time.我们能否打赢这场战斗不是问题;这只是时间问题。
二、主语从句的连接词及其句法功能1.连接词that和whether/if(1)that在从句中不充当任何句子成分,本身无任何意义,只起连接作用,但不可省略。❶That my parents always treat me as a little child makes me very unhappy.我的父母总是像对待小孩子那样对我让我很不开心。❷That the cllege will take in mre new students this year is true.今年这所大学将招收更多新生是真的。(2)whether/if在从句中不充当任何句子成分,起连接作用,意为“是否”,不可省略。❸Whether the plan will be carried ut is still unknwn.=It is still unknwn whether the plan will be carried ut.这个计划是否会实施还不知道。
2.连接代词(wh, whm, whse, what, which, whichever, whever, whmever, whatever等)连接代词引导主语从句,在从句中可以作主语、宾语、表语或定语。❶Wh will g t the cncert is nt knwn.不知道谁会去音乐会。❷Whever breaks the law will be punished.无论谁触犯法律都会受到惩罚。❸Whatever yu d in yur spare time shuld d n harm t thers.你在业余时间做的任何事情都不应该伤害其他人。
3.连接副词(when, where, hw, why等)连接副词引导主语从句并在从句中作状语。❶Hw this happened is nt clear t anyne.这件事是怎样发生的,谁也不清楚。❷When we will have a meeting is an imprtant questin.我们何时举行会议是一个重要的问题。❸Where I spend my summer is n business f yurs.我在哪里过暑假不关你的事。

二、主语从句中用it作形式主语的结构1.It+be+形容词(bvius, true, natural, strange, etc.)+主语从句It is imprtant that he shuld knw abut this.重要的是他应该知道此事。[名师点津] 在“It+be+形容词+主语从句”结构中,若形容词为imprtant/necessary/strange等,主语从句中的谓语用“shuld+动词原形”形式,其中shuld可省略。2.It+be+名词词组(n wnder, an hnur, a pity, a/n surprise, etc.)+主语从句It's a pity that he didn't attend the pening ceremny.很遗憾他没参加开幕式。
3.It+be+过去分词(said, reprted, thught, expected, prved, etc.)+主语从句It is suggested that the meeting be put ff.有人建议会议应当被推迟。[名师点津] 在“It+be+过去分词+主语从句”结构中,过去分词若为suggested/rdered/required/advised等,主语从句中的谓语用“shuld+动词原形”形式,其中shuld可省略。4.It+不及物动词(happen, seem, appear, remain, etc.)+主语从句It seems that it is ging t rain.看起来好像要下雨。5.It+及物动词+宾语+主语从句It surprised him why they came t visit him suddenly.让他吃惊的是他们为什么突然都来看他。
