Step1.Warm-up exercise
- Do the greetings.
Good morning, boys and girls.
Who is on duty today?
Duty report. The student on duty makes a duty report to introduce her favorite festival and why.
Just now, the reporter told us her favorite festival, do you like it, too? Now I’ll introduce my favorite festival. Please look at the video, then answer my questions..
2.Listen and look at the video, then answer the questions.

Step2.Lead in
Free talk:Yes, it’s talking about Halloween. Do you know when is Halloween? It’s on October 31st.
In China, we don't have that festival. But in England and the USA, people play traditional(传统的)games on that day-Halloween. Witches, bats, black cats, ghosts and jack-o’-lanterns are the symbols of Halloween. People play trick-or-treat, apple bobbing games at Halloween.
Step3.Presentation
Halloween is a very old festival. On that day, one thing is necessary(show the picture of pumpkin).Do you know what's this in English?--It's a pumpkin.(注意教读发音)
People use pumpkins to make jack-o’-lanterns, so jack-o’-lanterns are made of pumpkins.(show the picture of jack-o-lantern and teach ‘be made of’. What is it made of? It’s made of pumpkin.)
This is a pumpkin. This is not a tomato.
Use the same way to teach jack-o'-lantern.(注意教读发音。)
That is a jack-o’-lantern. That is not a potato.
3.Here is a woman. She can play magic. She is called witch.(注意教读发音)
4.Show a picture. This is not a witch. It always comes at night and frightens us. It's called ghost.(注意教读发音)
5.Use the same way to teach another words. (black bat)
6.Listen to the tape, read after it.
7.Use the four picture to practice, read the words in groups one by one. Boys read or girls read.

课后反思:
本课的教学目标是掌握关于万圣节的一些常见单词,运用四个指示代词在单复数形式下造句(肯定句和否定句),并且了解国外的传统节日相关文化,鼓励孩子探究不同国家不同地区之间的文化差异。我通过使用视频、图片、音频等方式让学生直观的了解单词和万圣节气息的传统,提升学生的兴趣。通过同桌之间的合作练习和呈现,锻炼孩子们的合作学习能力。整堂课的课堂氛围热烈,孩子们的参与度高,积极性也很强,教学目标基本达到。不足之处是部分单词的发音还没有掌握,如:ghost.四个指示代词中these还存在发音问题以及和those都有不分清单复数的情况,下一节课要纠正以上几点问题并巩固练习。
