We fllwed the advice f ther travelers and the lcals: drink lts f cca leaf tea and rest fr a cuple f hurs befre any activity.
We were sn hiking thrugh the ruins and surrunding ancient castles f Cusc.Leaving Cusc the next day,we stpped at the Mray Ruins, which were used fr farming by the Incas.Their size and unique design shuld be cnsidered a lessn in histrical engineering skills. This Inca site is ne f the least knwn turist destinatins, but it’s ne f the mst interesting places t visit.
Arriving in the beautiful Sacred Valley,we stayed at Willka T’ika fr the next week. This place is wnderful. We enjyed delicius vegetarian meals, all made with lcal prduce by lving Quechua peple.
Yu can’t g t Peru withut visiting histric Machu Picchu. The “rad” up t the ruins is made up f an endless series f switchbacks(急转弯),resulting in cld sweats. It was wrth the ride, thugh.
It was t sn befre we were leaving Peru.We learned the unique histry f Inca,Quechua culture, and the farming methds still widely practiced. The best thing we tk away returning hme t Vancuver Island was hw simple and caring the peple are and hw deeply they lve the earth and everyne they meet.

At the present time, the Internet is a majr part f ur lives. It’s always in ur hands r pckets.Whatever we are ding is smehw linked(连接) t the Internet. We start finding ur cnnectins nline as well, which is quite impressive. We find a persn n a scial media platfrm(社交媒体平台),see we have a shared interest and start chatting!
Online friendships in the past were dubted and nt cnsidered reliable because yu didn’t knw wh was behind the screen. But nw,when we can g shpping nline, clear bills in nline banks, and virtually attend schls, why can’t we find sme real friends nline?
With nline friends, there are several advantages. When we find smething catchy in smene—the very first quality f ur nline friend,we nly then encurage urselves t find ways t talk t them.We can share with them ur everyday things, and what’s better than texting ur friends ur secrets? We can be present tgether with them n interested frums(论坛).We can share lks just thrugh a click. And the best part is that we can sht them a real quick message whenever we need their expert advice.
With all these strengths f an nline friend, als cme sme weak pints which make sme peple afraid t find their friends nline.Sme peple believe that the persn they are talking t n the screen is nt real r trying t get infrmatin abut their private life. They feel uncmfrtable sharing and chatting with a persn wh they’ve never met in real life.Anther prblem that cmes in the way f nline friends is hanging ut.Peple can’t really hang ut with their nline friends. The ther prblem is miscmmunicatin, which smetimes leads t the end f a friendship.
Despite all these prblems, nline cmpany is a perfect frm f relatinship between tw r mre. After all,we wuld ntice these prblems in any ther kind f relatinship r friendship.Miscmmunicatin r a trust issue is always present even in face-t-face cmmunicatin.

If a child is playing sprt, they shuld have fun.Hwever,I believe learning that smetimes yu lse is just as imprtant.
There is a schl f thught that if children are playing fr fun, they shuld nt keep scre, which seems a bit backward t me.Participatin(参与) is great, but let’s als give them a gal t reach.
Sprt has winners and lsers, which is an imprtant part f its make-up.I believe the greatest jy yu can get frm sprt is when yu play hard and prduce a win, when yu and yur teammates wrk tgether fr yur gal.
I am a cmpetitive persn, but I dn’t think yu’re ever t yung t start learning that putting effrt int smething can result in reward(回报).I’m nt saying winning shuld be the be-all and end-all f the experience fr children, but it shuld at least be a chice.
Michael Jrdan nce said,“I’ve missed mre than 9,000 shts in my career.I’ve lst almst 300 games.Twenty-six times I’ve been trusted t take the game winning sht and missed.I’ve failed ver and ver again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”
Withut learning hw it feels t win,and just as imprtantly hw it feels t lse,we will bring up children wh expect life t be easy.Life is nt easy and I believe the sner children learn that, the better ff they are in the lng run. But,there des need t be a balance(平衡).There are parents wh always want t see their children win and will punish them when they make mistakes.
I believe the key is t teach children that they shuld give their all in an effrt t win.It des need t be fun r they wn’t be interested, but they shuld be graceful in failure.Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgis is an example f smene wh appears t have gne t far the ther way, always in the news fr his terrible attitude n curt.
12.Which f the fllwing will the authr agree with?

A.The difficulty f life.
B.The rle f hard wrk.
C.The pwer f teamwrk.
D.The need fr dreaming big.
15.What des the authr think f Nick Kyrgis?
A.He is nt skilled.
