活动1 | 1. Teachers can use a few simple words to ask students at the beginning of the class. For example: How do you spend your free time at school? Do you find your after school life interest? Then, let the students work in groups of four to have a one minute discussion, with the main purpose of encouraging as many students as possible to participate in the discussion. 2.Then, the teacher asked the students to observe the pictures and say which clubs these pictures represent. Have students work in pairs and name as many clubs as possible. Afterwards, the teacher will lead the reading. After reading, ask questions from the book: Are there any clubs in your school? Do you know each of the clubs below? Which club is your favorite? Are you in a club now? If you are, what club is it? The teacher asked the students to discuss in pairs. During the discussion, the teacher encourages students to express themselves in English as much as possible. If students have questions when expressing themselves, the teacher can first tell the students in the class how to answer them. For example: My favourite clubs are drama club and swimming club. I am not in a club, but I want to join the cooking club. | |
活动2 | 1. The teacher first asks students to brainstorm the benefits of joining a club and try to express them in English. 2. The teacher has all students read the six phrases given in the textbook and try to retell them. 3. For vocabulary that students find difficult, the teacher explains and leads the reading. 4. The teacher demonstrates how to apply these phrases to fixed structures and uses complete sentences to state one benefit of joining a club. For example, Clubs allow students to learn and build new skills Then ask the students to follow this method and introduce the benefits of joining a club to each other. Teachers can have students discuss the advantages of joining a club in groups of two or four, using the content from the textbook or adding more. For example, help each other, learn from each other, kill the time, learn some organizational skills, learn some knowledge, improve our interpersonal skills, and teach students how to express their thoughts. Using ordinal words or phrases can make the expression more logical. For example, first of all, then, later on, further, finally, or first, second, third, fourth, fifth, and so on. Teachers don't have to worry about spending too much time on these activities, as students' oral expression is good, complete, and logical, and their written essays will also make great progress. Part I Listening | 1.Before playing the recording, ask students two questions and ask them to browse the listening question content with the questions. This step allows students to not be in a hurry before listening, predict the listening content based on existing question content, and develop listening skills. Question 1: How many benefits are mentioned? Question 2: Why joining clubs is very important to us? 2. Play the recording and have students try to complete the connection. Encourage students to capture key information points during the listening process. The listening content can be repeated according to the students' situation. At the same time, discuss specific measures we can take to protect birds and write them down with a pencil during the conversation. 2. Students will read and share the activity phrases or sentences they have drawn. 3. For phrases or sentences that students have missed, the teacher should supplement them before reading them. 4. In the role-playing stage, the teacher can arrange the activity to take place in a corner of the classroom without any obstacles, ensuring that students can see the performers and exhibits in that corner. Post the pre prepared poster with the words' Bird Watching Club 'on the wall of the performance corner. Teachers can also display more pictures on the multimedia screen in the classroom. Two students role-play Zhang Lei and Li Han. Afterwards, ask the students to change group members and do the same exercise.
