    单词作定语通常放在所修饰的词之前,作前置定语。短语和从句则放在所修饰的词之后,作后置定语。
    用来限定、修饰名词或代词的句子成分,汉语中常用“……的”表示。
    主要由形容词担任,名词,代词,数词,分词,副词,不定式,介词短语也可,有时也由一个句子来担任。
    在复合句中修饰名词或代词的句子,一般紧跟在它所修饰的名词或代词(先行词)之后。
    Mary is a hardwrking girl.
    Mary is a girl wh has brwn hair.
    形容词作定语(前置定语)
    句子作定语,修饰girl, 叫做定语从句(后置定语)
    结构: 先行词 + 关系词 + 句子
    1. The man wh came t ur huse is Mr. Wang. 2. I like the bk which we bught yesterday. 3. The huse where we live needs repairing. 4. I still remember the day which we spent tgether.
    4.定语从句中的关系词
    1.关系代词: 在定语从句中作主语、宾语、表语和定语, 常用的关系代词有:that, which, wh, whm, whse
    2.关系副词: 在定语从句中作状语, 常用的关系副词有:when, where, why
    ① wh指人,在定语从句中作主语或宾语。作宾语时,可省略。
    The wman (wh) I talked with is ur teacher.
    A persn wh can teach yu things is called a teacher.
    ②whm指人,在定语从句中作宾语,可省略。
    The by (whm) I wrte t is my cusin.
    ③ which 指物,在定语从句中作主语或宾语。作宾语时,可省略。
    These are the trees which were planted last year.
    This recrder (which) he is using is made in Japan.
    ④that 指人或物,在定语从句中作主语或宾语。作宾语时,可省略。
    He is the man (that) I tld yu abut.
    A plane is a machine that can fly.
    ⑤whse指人或物, 在定语从句中作定语 。不可省略。
    We live in a huse whse windws face suth.
    This is the little girl whse parents were killed in the great earthquake.
    6.关系代词的用法注意点
    (1) that和which都可以指物,但以下5种情况只能用that 不能用which。
    ①当先行词中有人又有物时。
    D yu knw the things and persns that they are talking abut?
    ②当先行词为不定代词all, ne, few, little, n, sme, any, everything, nthing, nbdy, nne等时。

    ③当先行词被nly, just, very, right, last等修饰时。
    This is the very bk that I am lking fr these days.
    ④当先行词被最高级修饰时 。
    The TV twer is the highest building that has been built in this city.
    ⑤当先行词被序数词修饰时。
    The first lessn that I learned will never be frgtten.
    (2) that和wh都可以指人,但下面两种情况,多用wh。
    ①先行词为all, anyne, ne, nes等时。
    All wh heard the news were excited.
    ②先行词为thse, he和peple时。
    Thse wh want t g please sign yur names here.He wh des nt reach the Great Wall is nt a true man.
    (3) whse引导的定语从句注意点:
    ①其后应紧跟名词,构成名词短语。
    ②其先行词既可指人也可以指物。
    ③whse的先行词指物时,可用f which代替,但语序不同,即whse+名词 = the+名词+f which,或= f which + the + 名词。
    ④whse的先行词指人时,可用f whm代替,但语序不同,即whse+名词 = the+名词+f whm,或= f whm + the + 名词。
    (4) 关系代词在从句中作主语时,从句的谓语动词的人称和数必须与先行词保持一致。
