One area that needs t change is transprtatin. The rad transprt mdel is als becming a serius prblem: private cars pwered by petrl lead t air pllutin, traffic jam and nise. Accrding t EM-DAT (Emergency Disaster Database), the ttal natural disasters reprted each year has been greatly increasing in recent decades. These disasters include drughts, typhns, and flds, which have been increasing ver the past years. In 1980, there were nly abut 100 such disasters reprted per year, but it has risen t ver 300 a year since 2000. Scientists believe that sme f these natural disasters are caused by human activities: fr example, rapid urban develpment, cutting dwn t many trees, air pllutin caused by harmful gases frm heavy industries and vehicles.
