3. 通过本节课的学习,学生能够和同伴谈论曾经度过的假期旅行,并能正确地使用一般过去时进行问答。
4. 通过本节课的学习,学生能喜爱旅行,乐于分享假期乐趣。

Step 1: Warming up:
- T: Good morning, boys and girls.
S: Good morning, Shirley.
T: Boys and girls, we have a long holiday in October. What holiday is it?
Ss: It’s the National Day holiday.
T: Yes! How was your last National Day holiday?
Ss: It was …
T: Where did you go? (问两到三个学生) Ss: I…
T: Today let’s go on learning Unit 3 Holiday fun.(贴板书Holiday Fun)
揭题: Unit 3 Holiday Fun
- Let’s guess.
T: I visited some famous places last National Day holiday. Where did I go? Do you want to know? S: Yes.
T: OK. I went to four places and here are some descriptions. First, choose one of them. Next, read the sentences in group. Then guess. Finally, if your group got the answer, hands up. OK? Go!
A: It is a must place to visit in Beijing. It’s very big. On a holiday, it is covered with fresh flowers. Shirley watched the flag-raising ceremony(升旗仪式) there. (Tian’anmen Square)
B: It’s in Beijing. It was built on the mountains. It’s very long. There is a saying “He who has never been there is not a true man.” Shirley climbed it up and took photos there. (Teach: Great Wall)
C: It’s a beautiful park in Beijing. Cixi used to(曾经) stay there in summer. There is a big lake in it. Shirley went boating there. (Teach: Summer Palace)
D:It used to be the palace. Now, it is a museum. Visitors will be excited to find some sites, parks, museums, and theatres in it. Shirley had a good time there. (Teach: Palace Museum)

T: First, please read one by one.

Step 2:Let’s talk.
- T: Last National Day holiday, I went to Beijing. It was pretty good. Our friends Liu Tao and Mike went traveling too. Do you remember what they talked about? S: Yes.
T: Let’s look at the pictures. Ask and answer in pairs.
- 两人一组,根据图片和课文内容提问并回答。
- 比一比,谁提的问题多,谁回答得更准确。

Step 3: Grammar time (15’)

T: Look at the questions. Can you read and answer?

T: Now, look at the questions. Which one is different from the others? Discuss in groups.
Ss: Did you catch any fish?
T: Yes, what’s the difference?
T: These four questions have question words. They are “Wh-questions”.
T: Look at this question. We answer Yes or no. So it’s Yes-no question.
T: Because we talk about the things in the past, we should use past tense. But in these questions, the verbs are not in the past form. Why?
Ss: Because we use did in the questions.
T: Right. Here is a tip for you. Let’s read it.
- Read in pairs.
T: Now, boys and girls. Look at Grammar time. Let’s try to read in pairs. One reads the questions and the other one reads the answer.
Read together. Boys read the questions. Girls read the answer.
- Let’s look and say:

T: Look at the verbs. They are irregular verbs. We should pay attention to their past forms.

Step 4 Fun time

T: Good. Boys and girls, Mike and Liu Tao talked about their funny holiday. Look, Row and Amy are talking about their holiday, too. Let’s join them. OK?

T: Look, here’s a chant. First, please listen to me.

T: Can you chant now?
- Let’s dub.
T: Now, Row is asking Amy some questions. Let’s work in pairs. Look at the pictures, imagine what they are talking about and then act. Here are some useful phrases.
Step 5 Consolidation:A holiday album
- T: Boys and girls, how about your holiday? This time, share your holiday experiences.
T: What sentences can we use?
How was your National Day holiday? It was pretty good.
Where did you go? I went to Shanghai.
What did you do? I visited the Bund.
Did you go to the Shanghai Museum? Yes, I did.
Make a model.
1. 四人一组,晒一晒自己的旅游照片。

2. Make our holiday album
T: Now, boys and girls. Stick the photos on your card. Then write on the card. Let’s make our holiday albums. Work in four.
3. T: This lesson, we talked about our holiday. We shared our travelling experience. We saw beautiful sceneries and ate nice food. We were happy during the trip. We love holiday because it was great fun.
