After dinner, Johnson went to a wine bar and ordered a glass of wine. When the waiter brought him one, he was surprised. “Wow! How big!” he said. Batman, Jubilee, the X-Men—all are superheroes. What makes a superhero? Let’s look at seven things that superheroes share.
1. Nearly all superheroes have super-human powers. For example, Superman can fly, and Wonder Woman can talk with animals.
2. A secret identity(身份)helps protect the superhero’s family and friends. In a few cases friends and family know the superhero’s identity—that Spider-Man is really Peter Parker or that Bruce Banner is actually the Hulk.
3. A colorful costurne helps the public make out the superhero, and at the same time it hides his or her identity.
4. All superheroes are honest and own a strong moral code(道德准则). They respect the law but will break it if doing so will lead to the greater good. Superheroes expect no reward and seldom kill people.
5. There are always enemies who have similar powers for Superheroes to fight against.
6. As a child, Bruce Wayne saw a man kill his parents. He began training hard and later became Batman. The backstory tells how the superhero actually became the superhero we know. Superheroes are seldom born that way.
7. A weakness can make a superhero helpless. This is also what makes him or her interesting. To succeed they must overcome this weakness.
The superhero is perhaps not so different from us. It is the purpose of the story that speaks to us. They tell important truths about human nature. The superhero is a symbol of our hopes and goals. These are what we see in ourselves. And the superhero’s enemies are our own fears, such as crime and war. The superhero often loses but never, ever gives up. This is a lesson we can all learn from. Like us, the superhero is not perfect, but that’s exactly what makes a true hero.
31.Which picture best describes “costurne” in Paragraph 4?

34.Why does the writer point out the similarities between superheroes and us?
A.To encourage us to try to be perfect.
B.To advise us to act like superheroes.
C.To show that having weaknesses is of human nature.
D.To prove that superheroes have the same enemies as us.
35.What lesson can we learn from the superheroes?
A.Never give up. B.Never set a life goal.
C.Always hope for the best. D.Always learn to tell stories.
On January 27, in order to win the new pneumonia Resistance War(抗击新型肺炎战), the Ministry of Education issued(教育部公布) a notice on putting off the start time of school in spring 2020. It was said that school should not start before March. The exact start time of school will depend on situations and further notices.
However, many parents are very worried that putting off the start of school may affect(影响) children’s studies. If they have such a long winter vacation, children will not learn any knowledge, read books or study at all. They may forget what they have learned before. Staying at home for a long time will make them keep eating, sleeping and playing, which seriously affect their physical and mental health.
In short, the close of school influences learning and develops bad habits, so how should we avoid these problems? Local education departments have also issued a notice, that is, to organize online teaching and create a network platform(平台), where necessary courses will be shown every day, and online teaching will be given by excellent teachers of the subject, and students can learn at home through computer or mobile network.
It should be said that such a method is very good. It can not only keep students indoors and not worry about the infection(感染) of the disease, but also make them study at home, improve their learning ability, and truly achieve “no suspension of classes”. Both the platform itself and the recorded lesson resources are more useful, and are welcomed by parents and teachers.
Of course, except for learning at home, it is also necessary to teach children about health knowledge, especially how to keep away from touching virus and other knowledge popularization; at the same time, it is also necessary for children to do some physical exercises or some games, which is good for physical health at home.

Why do designers of fireworks like to put the biggest bang at the end? Why does a gymnast often show her best skill at the end of her performance? And why does the climax(高潮) of a movie usually come at the end instead of the beginning?
To answer these questions, you need to understand a rule in psychology first. It’s called the “peak-end rule”.
Please think about this: How do we usually judge(判定) a past event? Do we take an average of our happiness levels across the entire event? No. In fact, our memories are affected by the “peak-end rule”. We don’t remember all parts of the event equally. Instead, we only think of how the event was at the end and how it was at its “peak”. That helps us decide whether we would like to experience the event again.
One of the most famous papers on the rule was published in 1993. Scientists asked a group of people to put their hand in freezing water. People had to keep their hand in the water for 60 seconds. Then, the same group of people was asked to do the same thing again. This time, however, they had to leave their hands in the water for 30 seconds longer while the temperature was raised a little bit. They were then asked which of the two experiences they would prefer to repeat.
You might think people would choose the first one. However, most people said they would like to repeat the second experience. They chose more pain over less, but with a happier ending.
So the next time you make a plan, plan for the best things to happen at the end. Don’t worry if things don’t go according to your plans. After all, you may not remember the bad bits!
41.The underlined word “freezing” means ________ in English.
A.terribly hot B.very dirty C.quite clean D.terribly cold
42.In Paragraph 4, how long did the group of people keep their hand in the water the second time?
A.30s. B.60s. C.90s. D.120s.
43.How do we decide whether we should experience an event again?
A.Ask some of our closest friends for advice.
B.Think about how we felt across the entire event.
C.Think about how the event was at the end and at its best part.
D.Compare the event with the plan that we made at the beginning.
44.Which of the following can be explained by the “peak-end rule”?

B.People is likely to enjoy their favorite part of a dish in the end.
