Yu shuld use a career aptitude test t help yu determine the career yu shuld take.
The chart at the tp f page 51 is based n Hlland Cdes, als called Hlland Occupatinal Themes. The example test n page 50 is in fact adapted frm an nline test used by the US Department f Labur t help peple find their Hlland Cdes. Hlland Cdes were develped by an American psychlgist, Jhn L. Hlland (1919-2008) in 1959. Yu can take a test nline r at a career guidance centre t find yur individual Hlland Cde, which will be three letters shwing yur preferences fr the kind f wrk yu want t d. Yur Hlland Cde can then be matched t specific jbs. This, when cmbined with yur interests, shuld in thery give yu a gd idea f what career yu shuld chse.

Writer, architect, designer, and engineer.
D yu agree with the text when it says “The secret t a gd career is finding smething that yu are passinate abut”? Give yur reasns.
I d nt agree with that statement. Fr example, a persn may be passinate abut singing, but lack the talent fr it r the ability t turn it int a career. It might be better t find smething that he r she is gd at and can be successful at, and pursue it instead, as that way he r she can at least earn an incme. Peple can still pursue their passins as hbbies.
Lk at these jbs and then decide n which wrk persnality type they mst clsely relate t. Add mre jbs t each categry.

2 What culd be sme prblems with this srt f test? What ther things culd yu d t help yu decide n pssible future careers?
Yes, I wuld like t take such a test, because I think it might help me understand what kind f career I am suited t.
One prblem is that it might help me better understand the kinds f things I like ding, but it des nt really tell me what kinds f things I am gd at, r what kind f jb I can best earn a living with. I think anther ptin is t take an internship at a cmpany in a field I think I might like and try the jb ut t see if it is suitable.

1 Sme peple knw what they want t d frm a yung age, but many thers just have a few ideas buncing arund in their heads. 分析:buncing arund in their heads在句中作定语,修饰名词ideas。 如:• Sme impractical ideas kept buncing arund in my head.
2 Yu dn’t want t lk back in years t cme and say. “I wish I had thught mre abut what I really wanted t d.” 如: • I was hpeful that in years t cme, she’d cnsider this failure as a valuable experience that helped her grw. • Sme experts predict that husing prices will remain stable fr years t cme.
2 Yu dn’t want t lk back in years t cme and say. “I wish I had thught mre abut what I really wanted t d.” 如: • I wish I were a bit slimmer. • I wish I hadn’t eaten that much last night. • I wish yu wuld stay lnger.
3 Others fcus mre n asking yu t rate different kinds f wrk scenaris, like wrking as a librarian r a lawyer. 例如: • The perfrmance was rated a huge success by the audience. 例如:• I usually walk at an average rate f five kilmetres an hur. • The birth rate is slwly increasing these years. • We ffer reduced rates fr senirs.
