Master how to ask and identify ownership. 2.Know the forms and usage of possessive pronouns and the plural nouns.Teaching procedure:Step 1 Revision and lead in 1. Invite one or two students to introduce their family.   Let Ss talk about This is/That is …. These /Those are … They are … 2. Show a pencil to the Ss and ask : What’s this?  What color is it?  How do you spell it? Then say "Is this your pencil?" to lead in Unit3.  Step2. Presentation Show a ppt,Ask Ss try to finish the tasks. Show new words on the ppts. In this way present new words and key sentences. And let Ss talk about things in the classroom by using the key sentences.  Step 3 1a and 1b 1. Translate the words in 1a into Chinese. 2. Practice reading the new words aloud. 3. Match the words with the things in the picture. Check the answers. 4. Read the sentences in the picture and translate them into Chinese. 5. Do the listening in 1b. Number the conversations 1-3. Invite astudent to give answers. Step4 Pair work. 1.  Ask Ss to read the sample conversation in 1c.  2.  Then let Ss role play the conversation. Invite some pairs to perform the conversation. 3.  Encourage the Ss to summarize how to ask and identify ownership： Is this/that your …?  Yes,it is.It’s mine. No,it isn’t.It’s his/hers. Are these/those your…? Yes, they’re mine. No,they aren’t.They’re hers/his.  Step 5 Exercises 1. A: Is this your __________?         B: Yes, it’s _______. 2. A: Look there! Is that your father’s _______?         B: No, it _____. It’s _______, my brother’s. 3. Are these her ________?         B: Yes, they are_______. 4. A: Kate, are those oranges ______?         B: Oh, yes, they are my oranges. They are _____. 5. A: What are those?         B: ______ are CDs. They are ______, Helen’s.               Step 6 Summary. Guide Ss to summarize what they’ve learnt . Step7. Homework 1. Recite the conversations in 1b. 2. Finish the .exercises.
