What time is it? The answer you give can be different, because you are in different Earth's timezones (时区). But how could you tell the time if you are not anywhere on Earth?
Scientists are now thinking of creating a lunar (月球的) time zone. They believe it would be better forastronauts to communicate by using Moon Time, as they travel to, from, and across the Moon. At themoment, astronauts are using time zones of their own countries. But there could be safety problems causedby the differences in time-telling.
_____________ Gravity (引力) influences how quickly or slowly time passes. Since gravity is weaker onthe Moon, clocks run a bit faster there. After 24 hours, a lunar clock would be 56 microseconds ahead of aclock on Earth. Another point to consider is that a full day on Earth is about 24 hours between two sunsets. While on the Moon, it is nearly 709 hours, about 29.5 Earth days. This means that lunar nights can bearound two weeks long, with only the Earth and the stars in the sky. With all this to think about, scientistsneed to decide whether it would be better to follow a time zone on Earth, or for the Moon to have its ownspecial zone, which would have much longer days.
Scientists must consider other problems too. For example, who should be responsible for keeping thetime zone going? And how can it be made practical for astronauts to use?
There are more countries planning Moon trips in the future. The idea of creating a time zone on theMoon would make these easier. And if a lunar time zone is set up, scientists could create time zones forother planets like Mars.
27. Scientists think that a lunar time zone can _______________.
A. keep the Moon cleanB. keep astronauts healthy
C. make the Moon trips safer D. make space travel faster
28. Which of the following can be put in the blank _______________ in Paragraph 3?
A. Setting up a lunar time zone is not easy.
B. Setting up a special time zone is important.
C. Scientists are holding different opinions.
D. Scientists need to do a lot of experiments.
29. If the Moon has its own special time zone, a full day of it can be about _____________ on Earth.
A.56 microseconds B.24 hours C. two weeksD.29.5 days
30. What is the writer's purpose in writing the passage?
A. To give information about space travel.
B. To introduce the idea of Moon Time.
C. To describe an experience of time travel.
D. To share news about landing on Mars.

Five tips for a successful yard sale
Each summer, yard sales become popular and many people come to yards to get great deals on second-hand objects. Have you ever had a yard sale? What can you do to hold a successful yard sale? Here are fivetips for you.
31. _______________
Every yard has its own advertisement. The best ad is signs. Draw some big signs with just "Yard Sale"and a large arrow (箭头) on a board in front of your yard. Pointing customers (顾客) in the right way isalways better than just putting your address on the sign and hoping they know how to get there.
32. _______________
The more organized you are, the less busy it will be the morning of your yard sale. You want to makesure that you have everything set up before people arrive so you can have more time for answeringquestions and collecting money.
33. _______________
This is something a lot of people don't think about when preparing for a yard sale. You don't want toturn away customers because you don't have enough change. I suggest at least $50 in change, which meansmostly $1's and $5's.
34. _______________
Running a yard sale on your own can be really stressful, especially if you have a lot of objects to sell. It's hard to run inside to go to the bathroom or try to talk to and collect money from several customers atonce. Ask a friend or two if they have something they'd like to sell too and that way you'll have some helpin case things get busy or you need a break to get a drink or some food.
35. _______________
Yard sales are fun and you can make a good amount of money. It's also a good chance for you to chatwith your customers, make them feel comfortable, and enjoy yourself.
