1. 主语(subject):指句子的主体,说明谓语所表示的动作或状态的执行者。名词(短语)、代词、数词、不定式、动名词(短语)和从句等皆可作主语。Seeing is believing. 百闻不如一见。It is said that she is a prmising player. 据说她是一个很有希望的队员。(It是形式主语,that从句是真正主语)
2. 谓语(verb):指谓语部分的主要动词,用来描述主语的行为动作或所处的状态,有人称、数和时态的变化。实义动词可以单独作谓语,情态动词和助动词需要和实义动词一起构成谓语。I wuld like t invite all my friends here. 我想把所有的朋友都邀请到这里来。

3. 宾语(bject):指动作的对象或承受者,一般位于及物动词或介词后面。有些动词后面可以接两个宾语,其中表示人的宾语为间接宾语,表示物的宾语为直接宾语。Lizzie bught herself a muntain bike. 莉齐给自己买了一辆山地自行车。I nw lk frward t ging back t wrk as sn as pssible. 我现在盼望尽快回到工作中。
4. 补语(cmplement):补语分为主语补足语(subject cmplement)和宾语补足语(bject cmplement),用来补充说明主语或宾语的特征或情况。注意主动语态中的宾语补足语可以转化为被动语态中的主语补足语。I saw him playing basketball yesterday. 昨天我看到他在打篮球。(宾语补足语)He was seen playing basketball yesterday. 昨天有人看到他在打篮球。(主语补足语)
5. 状语(adverbial):修饰动词、形容词、副词或句子。充当状语的有副词、介词短语、不定式、分词、形容词、名词和从句等。The student makes great prgress with the help f the teacher. 在老师的帮助下,这个学生取得很大的进步。T get a gd view, he climbed t the tp f the hill. 为了能看得清楚,他爬到了山顶上。
6. 表语(predicative):指系动词之后的成分,用来说明主语的特征、类属、状态、身份等。充当表语的可以是单词、短语或从句。My wish is t becme an artist. 我的愿望是当一名艺术家。It is amazing that the little child can speak fur languages. 这个小孩会说四种语言,真令人惊讶。
