3.通过Do a survey的调查活动,引导学生运用核心句型。

【教学过程】
I . Pre-task preparations
1.请学生谈谈他们喜欢的动物。
S1: I like pandas. They are lovely animals. They are black and white. They are big and they cannot run fast. They like eating bamboo.

2.播放Sing a song的歌曲录音,然后请学生说出听到的动物,教师把单词写在黑板上。
T: What animals can you hear in the song?
S1: I can hear “eagle”.
T: (write eagle on the blackboard)
S2: I can hear “tiger”.
T: (write tiger on the blackboard)
然后在一些动物单词旁边写上in danger,引出单元话题 Animals in danger。
T: Animals are our friends. But some animals are in danger now.
II . While-task procedures
1.在黑板上贴上挂图,指着大熊猫、华南虎和蓝鲸的照片。请学生说说这三种动物的情况。
S1: Blue whales live in the ocean.
S2: There aren't many pandas now.
…
2.在黑板上画出表格,在三种动物下面写上数字,并板书 There were ... There are …句型。

出示Listen and say的图片,播放录音,学生边听边看图片。教师板书hundred,thousand,only,用 Look and learn 的图片解释hundred和thousand的词义。让学生检查表格内数字是否正确,指出错误的地方并说出正确数字。

3.学生完成Listen and say的反馈练习,然后核对答案。再次播放课文录音,请学生逐句跟读。
4.请学生根据表格复述课文,介绍三种动物现有的数量及曾经的数量。
S1: In the past, there were many pandas, but now there are only sixteen hundred pandas. In the past, there were many South China tigers, but now there are only about thirty South China tigers. In the past, there were many blue whales, but now there are only about ten thousand. These animals are in danger now. We must help these animals and protect them.
III . Post-task activities
1.调查活动。请学生看Do a survey的调查问题,四人一组课后展开调查。如果有条件,可以请学生上网进行搜索,然后把相应数据写在每幅图下面。
2.请学生根据调查结果准备口头汇报。请几个小组展示和汇报。
