Pre-task preparations1.出示挂图,让学生看图对话。S1: How long does it take to get to Tokyo from Beijing by plane?S2: It takes about three and a half hours.2.让学生介绍自己了解的一些著名的城市,如北京、伦敦等,主要介绍它们是哪国的首都或城市,所在的方位以及标志性建筑等。S1: In August, Peter and his family went to London by plane. It took about eleven hours to get to London from Beijing. London is the capital of the UK. They visited Big Ben and the British Museum. Big Ben is old. The British Museum is big. They had a lovely time.II. While-task procedures1出示著名城市东京、伦敦的图片,向学生介绍东京是日本的首都,伦敦是英国的首都,板书句子,学生齐读。T: Tokyo is the capital of Japan. London is the capital of the UK. (write “Tokyo is the capital of Japan. London is the capital of the UK.” on the blackboard)Ss. Tokyo is the capital of Japan. London is the capital of UK.2.出示Look and read的语段和相关句子,要求学生阅读语段,将语段与主题句配对。 Beijing is the capital of China.Tokyo is the capital of Japan.London is the capital of the UK.1You can find museums, palaces and parks there. Most tourists like visiting these places. They like visiting the Great Wall too. People there love eating dumplings.2You can find many museums there. People there love eating fish and chips.3You can see a lot of tall buildings there. A lot of tourists enjoy shopping there. People there love eating sushi.3出示问题,让学生带着问题再读语段。1What can people see in Beijing? (People can see museums, palaces and parks in Beijing.)2What do a lot of tourists enjoy doing in Tokyo? (A lot of tourists enjoy shopping in Tokyo.)3What do people in London love eating? (People in London love eating fish and chips.)4.出示北京、东京和伦敦的图片,让学生试着猜tourist, building, palace的意思,板书单词tourist, building, palace,学生齐读。接着领读sushi,提示学生它与中文寿司的读音是否类似,引导学生猜出其义。然后借助数据让学生理解most的意思,最后根据三个城市的特色食物,借助sushi, dumpling, fish and chips的图片,帮助学生理解单词。最后,播放Look and read的录音,学生跟读课文。III. Post-task activities1.让学生完成Look and read的反馈练习,根据课本上的quiz card填写London的测试卡,然后四人一组做测试。2.出示主要句型结构:_________is the capital of____________There are__________________________You can see/find____________________3.让学生根据Look and read的语段,试着概括介绍亚洲主要的首都城市,如北京、东京、曼谷的主要特点。可以拓展单词million,增加对城市人口的介绍,如There are 20 million people in Beijing.【板书设计】Unit9 Great cities of the worldtourist, building
