Warming-up (3’)

Lead in

1. Play a guessing game: Show the students part of a picture and make guess, What’s this?

2．Free talk:

(1)Can animals do something for us?

(2) Do you think all animals live in peace?

以旧引新，先引导学生回顾已学过关于动物的名称，活跃课堂气氛。

通过这个环节，可以训练学生的反应又在无形中培养学生大胆说英语的习惯。活跃了课堂气氛。

Step Two

Pre-task

(5’)

Show students some  pictures about some animals, show the title of Module 6 and lecture the new words as well.

eg: snake, neck, thin, danger, in danger, at last, interested, allow, think of, protect, grow, take away, enough, look after, raise

Watch pictures learn some new words and try to describe them like this :The giraffe has long neck and it is very tall…

引导学生谈论图片,训练学生描述事情的能力。在描述的同时学习新单词和句型，做到词不离句，为学生扫清听的障碍。

Step Three

While -task (24’)

1. Listen and choose

(1)T: Now let’s listen and find out:

1. What is this week’s Animal World about?

 A. Pandas

2. What animals aren’t in danger?

C. Elephants

2. Listen and  watch the video, then find out:

 Why are many animals in danger?

3. T：Since so many animals are in danger, what can we do to help them? (Have students open their books and find out the answer and complete the table in Activity 3.)

4. Reading and understanding the dialogue ( have students find out the difficult points.)

5.Problems- solving

Ask the students to read the dialogue in roles. And help them solve these important points:

 1) at last = finally = in the end

 2) Verbs : to do:

allow sb. to do sth.

have a safe place to live

need to do sth.

want to do sth.

pay to do sth.

3) take away

4) in danger \ peace

5) raise money

6） It’s sad to think of … in danger.

6. Have students read the dialogue and try to remember the main idea.

1. Listen and choose the right answer.

2. The students listen and  watch carefully and then find out the answer.

3. Read the conversation and find out the answer to the question “what can we do to help the animals in danger?” and complete the table in Activity 3.)

4.Students open the book and find out the answers. Then make them to work together and finish the questions in groups.

5.Some students read the dialogue and the other students find out difficulties  points. All the students say the difficulties 

and solve together.

6. Read the dialogue.

把听对话回答问题改为听对话选择正确的答案，降低难度，让学生循序渐进，从易到难

，提高学习信心。

让学生带着任务（问题）去听对话并找到答案，有助于培养和提高学生更加准确地听取信息的能力。通过小组活动提高学生间的自主、合作学习，让学生充分地实践运用语言，并激发学生创造性思维的发展。

1.Retelling.

①Let the students complete the conversation with the correct form of the words form of the words from the box on Activity 4.

②Call back the answers

Work in pairs

Have students talk with their partners about what we can do to protect animals in danger like this:

1. Complete the retelling on the book.

2. Talk about the protections with their partners and share the ideas in class.

复述对话能使学生加深对课文内容的理解和记忆。

适当的口头练习，让学生巩固本课时的语言点和突出重点, 还锻炼了学生的胆量。
