She gradually realized that it was imprtant t establish her wn brand and launch prducts with distinct features.
That’s when she was inspired by the cut. In July 2011, Yang accidentally cut her hand n a thrny leaf when she was hiking in Fanjing Muntain. A bld idea came int her head: “There are leaf-vein bkmarks and leaf-vein paintings. Why has nbdy created leaf-vein embrider yet?”
Obviusly, the reasn behind this is that embridering n leaves requires delicate skills that few pssess. The biggest technical challenge Yang faced was imprving the flexibility f the leaves and making them as sft as clth. On Oct 16, a day she will never frget, Yang finally created a shiny, thin and unbreakable piece f leaf vein. Her idea f leaf-vein embridery came t cmpletin after hundreds f experiments.
Tw years later, Yang pened an embridery prcessing factry and ffered jbs t mre than 500 laid-ff female wrkers, rural wmen and peple with disabilities. “I will keep ding the leaf vein embridery fr the rest f my life because it is meaningful.” she says.

Brusatte said that becming smaller was “a cmmn way that mammals deal with climate change”. He added,“That’s nt t say every species f mammal wuld get smaller, but it seems t be a cmmn survival trick f mammals when temperatures spike pretty quickly, which des raise the questin: if temperatures d spike really quickly, might humans get smaller? And I think that’s certainly reasnable.”
In a recent study, researchers studying human remains ver the past millin years have als suggested that temperature is a majr predictr f bdy size variatin, while scientists studying red deer have said that warmer winters in nrthern Eurpe and Scandinavia may lead t the bdy size f these animals becming smaller.
Hwever, nt all experts agree that rising temperature causes mammals t shrink. Prf Adrian Lister, f the Natural Histry Museum in Lndn, said the relatinship shwn by the recent human remains study is weak, while the strng relatins between temperature and mammal bdy size may ften be dwn t the availability f fd and resurces.
Lister is als sceptical that humans will shrink as the climate heats. “We are nt really cntrlled by natural selectin.” he said. “If that was ging t happen, yu’d need t find large peple dying befre they culd reprduce because f climate warming. That is nt happening in tday’s wrld. We wear clthes, we have gt heating, and we have gt air cnditining if it is t ht.”
